Fox & Hound - Wilmington, NC

Water tasted and smelled like chemicals must have been tap water. The service was mediocre we waited for about 5 minutes for the waiter to take our order but she was super nice. The food tasted rushed and made my stomach feel a bit bad sweet tea was over sweetened and the table was still dirty had crumbs all over. Not coming back.

My mom and I reserved the room at the Fox and Hound for my father’s celebration of life yesterday. Chris, the manager, was truly an Angel. He made the reservation process extremely smooth, walked us through step by step, and provided so much additional warmth and comfort on a day that was inherently stressful. On the day of, he and his staff provided excellent customer service. At the end of the event, he broke down payment very clearly (balancing our many Visa gift cards from friends for condolences!) and told us he was praying for us. Thank you, Chris and staff, for such a wonderful afternoon with loved ones to honor my father!

Stays open late & manager was super nice. We were thankful it was serving food & beverages at an hour of the night when many restaurants had already closed down in Wilmington. I highly recommend Fox & Hound! It was what we needed at the right time.

The food was great, and our server was too. Unfortunately, the bartender was extremely unequipped to be serving alone - not because it was busy (it wasn’t), but because he had no idea what he was doing. We waited over a half an hour at our table for a mocktail and daiqurie. The server did his best but eventually we cancelled the daiquiri (because the bartender looked to have no idea how to make one) and asked for an old fashioned, as well as a manager. The manager, Hannah, was even worse. She came with excuses, no apology or accountability, and lacked customer service. When we got our drinks (after apps were finished and we were halfway through our meal) Hannah said she’d comp them.. and of course they were still on the bill. She never came back to fix anything or check on us. Our poor server really picked up the slack of the bartender and manager. Hannah could use a lesson in hospitality.

Lots of our food was wrong. Our tickets were wrong multiple times. We ordered stuff and never got it. The waiter struggled so much. My sandwich was so spiced I could only eat a few bites. Our most expensive meal of our whole vacation and so underwhelming.

At the restaurant on 7/22/23 Waited 1 hour No food! Waitress came out twice to give us a time to expect our food, Nothing! One cook in the kitchen! Then when we said we were not waiting anymore, she said no charge for drinks, shug did you even think we were paying! Good-bye!

Good place for drinks and a great atmosphere, food on the other hand is mediocre at best. The fry’s were undercooked and the food was missing ingredients. I have never ate a chicken sandwich without any condiments before but I can tell you now that it is extremely dry and taste like dirt when the kitchen is out of aioli

We went here prior to seeing a movie at the theater next door. Unfortunately the food was underwhelming, especially for the price. The menu is limited and the sides seem like frozen crinkle fries and tots. For the price of $15-20 for a burger/chicken sandwich I was expecting more. No plans to return to this restaurant. Our waitress was great- very attentive and fast service. The food was just disappointing.

We were visiting the area and stopped in for dinner. We waited 45 minutes for our food, the waitress came out three different times to inform us that they were out of items that we ordered. We finally got the food which was ok, definitely not worth a 45 minute wait or the price. On the way home my son started having stomach pains and throwing up. Definitely will not be back and do not recommend.

Today Wednesday the 5th we went to this place and we really did not enjoy the food, we ordered a BBQ GRILLED SALAD and the lettuce was very old and the NACHOS CHIPS they asked us if we wanted chicken or chili, we decided on chili and what they brought us was ground beef plain.

The service was good but the food had a lot to be desired. Burgers over cooked, no sauce for Jack Daniel burger, no cheese sticks for the sample platter and no taste to the buffalo chicken sandwich. Really disappointed because we had friends from out of town.

I took my two daughters to the movies so we went to kill time not only was out our food 83$ for chicken tenders a salad and kids meal the service was slow the tenders were burnt. I had to ask for dressing for my salad and we weren’t offered refills they. Roughy is the check before we finished even eating and the appetizer came out along with the food and it too almost and hour to get out food this was my second time there and never again. I mean we got the bill with the food but yet waited an hour for burnt tenders. It was not. A friendly vibe at all and very uncomfortable I will not ever be returning !!!

Definitely bar type food, restaurant was empty but took way too long to get our food. Food was average, would have been better if it was hot, didn't seem very fresh. Staff was nice.

I'll start by saying I've been here before for trivia and drinks. It was a good time. The cost for drinks was a little jarring, but not enough to scare me away from coming back. I visited the restaurant again last night with a friend, and it will be my last time. We were seated quick, drink orders taken and our meal order taken quickly after.The food took about 45 minutes to come out; which is awful considering there were only customers at four tables in the entire restaurant with at least three servers working, and four customers at the bar. Our server refilled our drinks and said our food would be up any minute. Once it came, it was obvious it had been sitting under heat lamps for some time. The trays were very hot and the bun on my friend's burger was hard from baking so long in the light. Her medium done burger was brown all the way through and the taste wasn't great. My chicken was tasty, which is why I'm giving this review two stars instead of one.The worst part was the bill. A Sprite was $4. Blue Moon, on tap: $9. The whole bill for a burger/fries, chicken/fries, a Sprite and two beers: $63. That is not acceptable for a sports pub with mediocre food and below average service. We were seated at a table that was dirty and we were asked to give them a moment to clean it. The table was sticky the whole time we ate, and from looking around, other tables were messy with food left behind from before we got there. With only 13 total customers in the restaurant and at least six staff that we could see, there's no reason the place should be so messy and food taking so long to get out of the kitchen.I'm not here to pile on and make this place sound worse than it was, but it was disappointing and after reading many other reviews, we're not the only ones with these concerns. We paid way too much for what we received.

Brought a friend for his first legal drinks. There was a UFC event and they informed us of it. We made it clear that’s not what we were there for and they said it’s fine we can still sit out part of 12 at the table. Only until we had placed our orders that they informed us that if we did not leave by 7:15 we would have to pay extra….it was 7:00 pm when we ordered our food and that’s when they decided to inform us. We had to take our food to go with our friend not being able to try any drinks. Absolutely ruined the occasion due to terrible communication on the staffs part. Wish I could leave 0 stars
