So delighted to find a gluten free bakery here in Wilmington! We ordered a cake for my son's birthday and it turned out beautifully! The gluten free options were wonderful. My son is so excited to try scones and tiramisu for the first time. Located off market st, not far from UNC Wilmington, I'm sure we will be back regularly.

I'm so excited to have a gluten-free bakery in Wilmington. I ordered a birthday cake, and it's gorgeous! From just a quick phone call, the owner knew exactly what I wanted and was so nice. I got a lactose and gluten-free cake and it was delicious!! And moist, if you're gluten-free, you'll know that's a big deal. We also got a coffee cake which was amazing. I will definitely be going back for all my bakery products.

I ordered 2 dozen gluten, dairy, soy, and dye free cupcakes. They were incredible and far exceeded my expectations as well as my guests. You would have never known they were gluten and dairy free. My kiddo can never eat cupcakes at parties and it was so special to see him so happy to be able to enjoy them. Thank you!

Here's one I haven't heard of (but I also don't eat a restricted diet). #GlutenFreeByTheSea
I went online today to find something breakfast-y for a coworker who won't eat the doughnuts the rest of us slobs are going to eat at our Monday morning office pow-wow. Gluten Free by the Sea came up, I browsed their menu, and it all looked so good!!! Especially sold by the line "we aim to make everything NOT taste Gluten free" (I took liberties).
Anyhow... they aren't open Monday AM, and it seemed my only option was delivery, so I placed an order for a lemon pound cake for delivery tomorrow. Once I got that far, I had no further prompts. Since I am completely technologically illiterate, I assumed it was me, so I picked up the phone to place the order.
1. The woman who answered was soooo friendly! I assume she is the owner.
2. I explained about not being able to place the order online, and she was immediately concerned, apologetic, and asked for specifics. Turns out, even tho they've been there for EIGHT YEARS (who knew?!), the online thing is brand new to their website, so.... glitches.
3. I am picking up the cake from Judges Rd tomorrow, and I pray I can make it until Monday to try it! She said she was going to "make the trouble worth my while", to which I responded to please not... I remember owning my business and having growing pains, even when it wasn't new. Honestly, I wasn't expecting delivery to start with.🤷🏼‍♀️

The moral of my long story is a short 2 parter.
First, it's always exciting to try somewhere "new". Second, and MOST important... you can have the best product in the whole wide world, but it will never be a true success without outstanding customer service backing it up!!!!
I'm seriously stoked to meet this woman who lives up to my expectations of myself tomorrow :).
I have no idea about how it tastes or the atmosphere yet, but I have a hunch my 5 stars are correct!

Quality gluten free options are hard to find that truly taste good. The owner of Gluten Free by the Sea went the extra mile as a business owner. Thanksgiving is complete. My daughter is gluten free and yes she made pumpkin rolls gluten free. She didn’t hesitate or declined my late order. That is customer service.

We had Gluten Free by the Sea cater our wedding and it was amazing. No one could even tell it was gluten free! The decorations were amazing and they were very easy to work with about other allergies as well (such as dairy, tree nuts, etc.)

🎂 This is hands down the BEST cake I've ever had! If you're on the fence, just buy it—you won't regret it! Gluten Free By the Sea was the perfect gift for me, and my entire family absolutely loved this red velvet cake.

I have been here twice now and wow!

Must get: key lime pie!!!! Lemon bars!!! And they make the best chamber buns! I wish I got more. I did burgers bhr even better was sausage and peppers on them! Yum.

Things to skip: chocolate chip cookies are very hard and have an odd flavor to them.
