Maybe an off night? She crab soup tasted mostly of salt. Fried clams were mushy and missing the meat mostly. Having eaten seafood all my life, it was the worst we've had. Didn't miss on the biscuits, but the meal was a bust generally. Won't try again with so many quality options available in the area.

We had the nut crusted fish with a fantastic seafood sauce, great side dishes and generous pours from the bar. We finished with spectacular desserts. Amazing service. This was our first dining experience at Hieronymus, but we will be regulars. It was a celebration, and the 2 bottles of wine pushed up the average price per person. Probably $30-50 per person without the wine. Highest 5 star rating, 5++!!!!

It was not a great experience . Unfortunately, my entree of stuffed grouper was not fully cooked. It was warm in spots and cold underneath part of the fish. The server did take it back to be put back in the oven. When returned, the top layer of fish and crab stuffing tasted fine, but the bottom layer of fish had an odd taste and still wasn't the texture that cooked grouper should be nor was it hot. The side dishes of vegetables and red potatoes were cooked and seasoned well. Unfortunately, the bottom crust of the pecan pie that I got for a take out dessert was not baked enough- very soggy and uneatable. My husband's entree of grilled scallops and cheese cake dessert were both good. I was out of luck all around, it seems. I doubt that I will return here when I return to this area, not with so many other choices nearby. I do want to say that all of the staff that I encountered were very pleasant.

The device was dreadful. Ordered clams in the half shell and had to wait and wait and wait. When they came you could barely see any clam the half shell, no exaggeration. There wasn't enough clam in all six to even fill up a teaspoon. So We told the waitress nicely and she said “ well what do you want me to do”? How about if you bring 6 that have clams in the half shell? Ok. Never came. Our dinner came, forgot one side the coleslaw on 2 meals and forgot to bring tartar sauce or cocktail sauce. The fish was good as it usually is there. I had to tell the waitress we did not want the clams for our desert and once again she said”Well what do you want me to do?” I just said I think it would be appropriate to remove that charge from the bill.. She huffed off. This was a birthday treat so regretted the negativity and poor service.

Cliche, decor is typical giant fish and sea accessories. Tables have shells and sand in them, which is fun. But it is exactly what you want in a place like this. Service is always kind and fun. Food is always good - sometimes superb, depends on the day. But always worth it. Prices are reasonable. Fresh catch options are always a great variety. Swordfish is amazing when they have it. Always recommend giving it a chance at least once. We go every time we visit the area.

This place was definitely worth it! We came here for our anniversary dinner and I got the steamed platter which was heaven out of this world. I ate every single thing on the platter. My husband got the swordfish and it was absolutely perfect. Perfectly cooked perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere here is wonderful.. We started off with a dozen raw oysters and they were heaven on earth. Everybody here is very nice, nobody rushes you and you could actually sit and enjoy your dinner. I gave this restaurant all 5’s and we had never been here before. They wow’ed me the minute we sat down. We each had a drink and we also had dessert. They offer a Meyer rum, pecan pie with ice cream and whipped cream, and that was heaven. My husband got the chocolate thunder, which is a giant brownie with ice cream and whipped cream piled on top and chocolate chips. Word to the wise; order one to split between the two of you. We could not finish our desserts they were that big.

We had a great experience. We had reservations for 6:30 and were seated promptly. We dined in the main dining room. We had a table for two. Our table was formed like a glass covered sea bottom with sand and shells giving it a nautical feel. Nice. We had the good fortune to come on Wednesday which is half-price wine night so we opted for a bottle of Italian Pino Grigio, which was delicious and cost less than two glasses of wine would have cost. Out waitress, Lila, was very attentive and helpful in making our selections of fresh caught fish which were well prepared and quite delicious. I had golden tile fish and my wife had Mahi Mahi. The side items were also great. I had string beans, kale and roasted potatoes. My wife had the salad option. Only complaint was that the salad was way too big for her to eat. For my birthday treat, they comp'd us a nice Key Lime tart which was tres yummy. Great evening. Oh! I almost forgot the best part: the oysters. We had a half-dozen on the half shell as an appetizer and they were amazing! Thank you Hieronymus Seafood for such a nice evening.

Great fresh seafood. Disappointed that they say they have a certain fish only to find out later that they were out and no one told the wait staff.

Visited Hieronymus Seafood for the very first time last night. Visiting from Upstate South Carolina, it was a breath of fresh air to experience the great customer service, very tasty food, and fast but caring service. Enjoyed the variety of 'catch of the day' options with our meals. Will definitely love to come back again.
