Islands Fresh Mex Grill

Came kinda late but enjoyed my tacos at the place! Very kind, very good food!

The quality of the downtown location varies per visit, with occasionally having lukewarm tacos and a salsa bar that should probably be replaced with fresher sauces/black beans more often than it does. My visit yesterday left me feeling pretty ill and had some bites in my food that just felt off/sour. Love Islands but haven't been happy a couple times that I've been to this location..

The food was horrible. The queso I got was a nasty yellow color and tasted burnt. Not the typical consistency of the queso I normally get from islands. I threw the food away. I was very disappointed. I love islands and I constantly go to other locations. I do not recommend coming to this location.

Ordered online 30 minutes before even getting there, waiting 15 minutes once we got there, everyone standing in line even after we got there got their food before they even started ours.

I stopped here for a quick bite while strolling downtown Wilmington. Service was quick and prices were decent. Servers were friendly. Food was ok, they were generous with their sides not so much with their meats.

If you want tacos this is spot 4 tacos and a drink $10 (after 5 it’s only a couple $ more) plus they add chips and free salsa! This is the spot the food is so good you can’t beat it.

Visited here for the first time on the 4th of July with my mom. It was crowded but the entire crew treated everyone with great service and the food was delish. Came back today with my mom and brother and Tavon took care of my family with great care and remembered us. This location is way better than other locations I’ve visited. The service is fast and the food is yummy prices are reasonable with many options to choose from. Great job Tavon and I couldn’t get the name of the guy working with him but they worked excellent together and got the line down in a professional manner.

Busy week. July 4th. Maybe it was not the best time to go. Mistakes on out take out order and food quality was just off. Other locations are very good. This one was not as good.

We were skeptical at first, but their food is surprisingly super good! Thank you to the workers who were extra patient with my family while we were ordering. It was a little confusing for us, but we managed with their guidance. Thank you!
