My partner and I came from out of town to see some friends. We decided to stop by islands because it’s usually pretty good! The food was great, but the service of one of the employees was absolutely unacceptable. We each got the jerk chicken burrito, but in a bowl. I had asked for extra sauce, which they provided, but I had meant the other sauce that was on the burrito. It was my mistake, so I didn’t say anything. My partner then asked me if I wanted the other sauce, knowing what I meant and I was like yea but it’s no problem at all. My partner then asked for the other sauce on the burrito. They seemed confused about our interaction, so my partner explained it was the other sauce and we just wanted extra and would gladly pay for it. The employee then THREW the sauce down into the chips with aggression and annoyance. Then THREW the other sauce into the garbage can right in front of us aggressively. My partner made it known that that was rude and there was no apology. We then asked for boxes to go because we didn’t feel comfortable in this establishment.

I don't know how in the world this place got 4.5 stars. The customer service from the jump was terrible. One employee did not speak English but was trying to take orders and messing all out orders up. I don't know if this is the manager or if he is just the angry man in charge. This was the worst. I will never ever ever come back here ever again. And, I recommend you do the same. The food was horrible it was bland and had no taste whatsoever.....it was cold. I came here with 10 family members... And we all came to the same conclusion... They should definitely go out of business....or fire the angry man.

I am a fond believer that you cannot cook angry. You have to cook with love and this restaurant is not giving love. They suck.

I observed an employee handling the tortilla shell with their bare hand (left hand bare right hand gloved). I mentioned it to the staff and they said they were wearing gloves. I said only one hand was gloved and I observed them handling the shell with their bare hands.

My husband ordered a burrito with steak and all the fixins. It was sooo bland. Not even the guacamole had flavor. I ordered 2 tacos with steak and that was awful too. I didn’t taste the cilantro dressing they put on them and mine was bland as well. Our food was cold. My kids always eat their tacos but didn’t want anything to do with them. Wish there was mild salsa but they had only hot, medium, salsa verde, and bean&corn. The chips tasted like taco season had been dumped on them. I can’t believe how bad it was and I really love Islands :( . And of course we love the play area.

my girlfriend and I decided to stop by Islands Fresh Mex Grill today for the first time. it's in our neighborhood. the food was great. we have a new place, now. we'll return. we recommend it.

Ate here today and the lady who rang us up had the worst attitude! She didn't listen me when I told her how to ring up my order and tried to get me to pay for the other people with me! She then rolls her eyes when we say the drink machine is out of syrup! She was giving all of us the stink eye when we walked out.
