Jax 5th Avenue Deli & Ale House

I'm ashamed to say as a Wilmington native this was my first visit to Jax, but it certainly won't be my last. The complimentary jar of pickles is a cute touch and they were so good!
My wife and I shared a couple of appetizers and a pizza. The spinach dip was creamy and perfectly balanced and the bread was toasted without being hard. The shrimp salad sliders were good, the toasted buns were a nice touch.
We chose the fig and gorgonzola pizza and it was delicious.
Our waitress was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I do wish they had a cocktail menu instead of just a liquor list.

Nice little bar/restaurant. Wife & I go there regularly. Close to UNVW csmpass & good spot for us to eat b4 basket ball games. Great sandwiches & pickles!

Stopped by for lunch. We had a very good meatball hoagie and my wife had a very good BLT on sourdough bread
Upon seating we were served complimentary cut up pickles!! Yummy

We try to stop in at Jax whenever we're in town. The staff is always friendly and I enjoy the complimentary pickles they have for the table. Plus they have a lot of interesting choices on the menu.

I've enjoyed their Polish sausage sandwich on a couple occasions. Today I decided to try their Reuben sandwich. When I saw they were using an onion roll for another sandwich I asked if they'd make mine on one. I was really looking forward to the added onion flavor, but unfortunately even tho they were on it I couldn't taste them much. The corned beef was good and the saurkraut was cooked nice and soft. The side salad was a bit of a letdown as it had a massive amount of red onions on it and hardly no lettuce. The dressing was nice tho.

I don't recall what my spouse had, but hers was kind of off. Too bad cos previously it seemed like it could be a solid choice anytime.

This was my first time at this restaurant but I will definitely be back. I ordered to go but next time I would definitely like to dine in because the atmosphere was very welcoming and seemed like a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon. The staff were all very kind and helpful and clearly wanted to provide a good experience. The Cuban sandwich I got was delicious! Can’t wait to try something else next time.

Jax is the best sandwich in Wilmington. I love the potato salad. Sabrina is my favorite server on the planet. I try to go at least once a month. Always excellent 👍✌️
