The service was awful, the waiter was very rude. The food was very underwhelming and overpriced, and the atmosphere was bad. Two pieces of toast with poorly sliced avocado on top was TEN DOLLARS. Will not eat here again. ?

The food and service were great. My black bean burger was delicious and filling. The coffee is fresh and tasty.

Great little place for lunch, breakfast or brunch. Everything is great and the employees are amazing. Bread pudding is A-Mazing! Make sure you try this place while you are in the port city. There is a cool record place across the street and and awesome thrift shop.

The food was delicious! Our server was welcoming and aimed to please. What a homey, comfortable environment! Three of us had a version of eggs Benedict, one strata, and one chicken bacon ranch sandwich. All delectable! I really was torn between their version of avocado toast and their breakfast potatoes and egg. What a great Sunday with family. Thank you!

I went here once, years ago, when the cafe first opened. I can't remember much about the experience but I remembered it was pleasant. A few days ago me and my girlfriend decided to revisit it for her birthday breakfast and we LOVED it! I love the small, cozy atmosphere, I honestly don't know any other place like it. The location is awesome, castle street has an amazing vibe. Our waiter/host seemed to be running the front by himself and I was impressed by how attentive he was to everyone. I love the unique artwork and one of my favorite parts was the funky jazz music playing lightly as we dined. I got the French dip sandwich which I devoured!! The jous was so good and the bread was delightful. I got the black-eyed pea salad as a side and it actually blew my mind, I need that recipe!! My girlfriend got the quiche, which is one of her favorite meals, and she loved it. There was a veggie option and a meat option for the quiche, which I thought was a nice touch. The crust was buttery, crumbly and wonderful but wasn't too thick. She had the side of soup which was broccoli cheddar that day and we both found it very comforting. After the meal we just sat and talked and enjoyed the atmosphere. I was so delighted and grateful for our meal here and huge props the waiter for his exceptional service. We will definitely be coming back soon!

First off, they were out of the quiche I wanted, then the French toast, so I just went with their recommendation, eggs Benedict. It was plain, cold, and too much mayo in the hollandaise sauce, and the portions were overpriced and extremely small. Next, while we waited, I ran across the street to Luna Cafe for coffee. When I returned the server denied me entrance. Said I couldn't bring my coffee inside their restaurant. Boy, was I not happy. So I had to leave it outside. I will never return! Paying the high bill made me cringe after my experience. They were beyond rude.

A pace to come for breakfast. It is a Quant small restaurant in a neighborhood. I ordered the quiche. I was looking for a nice slice of quiche instead what I got was something that looked like a slice of pizza. It was very thin. I liked at the table across from me, and their poached eggs looked terrific. They only have regular coffee in small cups. They have free refills. They had some other interesting breakfast choices. I would come back to try them.

Nice place for brunch. The setting is a converted house, and is comfortable and relaxed. Food was good, and the service was great. We were in Wilmington for a wedding, and found this on Yelp. They had a good rating and it was within a mile or so of our hotel, the Ballast on the riverfront. When we mentioned to some of the locals that we went to Jester's, all had a positive opinion of the place. Highly recommended.

Visited with a friend for lunch the other day. It's located in a beautiful old house which gives it a very quaint feel. It was hot outside so we dined in. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the French Dip with a side of black eyed peas. The sandwich was delicious but the peas were bland. I noticed they had on the menu a "Cubano" Having been born and raised in Miami just let me say Wilmington NO ONE ABSOLUTELY NO ONE knows how to make a Cuban sandwich here. As for Jester's I would definitely go back as it has a very nice ambiance .

I love the atmosphere; the restaurant is situated in an old home in the Castle Street district. However, it could do with better management. When we sat down for breakfast, the chalkboard menu was incorrect; it had not been updated from the previous day. Then, the waitstaff brought another table’s food first, who showed up and ordered 10 minute after us. The Country Benedict was average; the sausage patties appeared to be store bought. I also did not like that the food was served on plastic plates; that was tacky.

I like this place alot because of the food, it's small so it's not ideal for groups over 4 people. Some of the sitting has church pews & pillows, very homely. The service staff can be a little rude, not sure if this is because sometimes people like to take their time so tables turn over slower or because there is a little attitude problem.
