Our server Julie was amazing. Top tier service and dining experience. The snapper and the brisket were incredible.

Beautiful restaurant, attention to detail, our server was informative and knowledgeable. Everyone's dinner was excellent. The crab dip not so much was a little bland. Everything else was enjoyed by us all.

Kipos was absolutely beautiful. We have gone to the original Chapel Hill location for years and wanted to try the Wilmington one. It is a much more beautiful venue and the gardens are stunning. Julia was an amazing waitress with excellent suggestions. We will definitely be back.

As long as Jeff Martino is working in your establishment myself and all my friends and family will not be coming. His comment on Facebook calling people with different views Nazis and KKK members is unacceptable.

Overall Experience Feedback

The food was enjoyable and the atmosphere across most of the property was pleasant. However, I have a few notes for management. If I were evaluating as a secret shopper, the service would have failed dramatically. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving the guest experience.
1) Hostess Interaction

As the face of the property, the hostesses set the tone for the entire visit. One hostess was friendly, welcoming, and smiled appropriately. Unfortunately, the other did not greet us with a smile or the level of professionalism expected at an upscale restaurant. A proper greeting should include:

A warm smile

A polite welcome such as “Good evening”

Escorting guests to the table

A courteous send-off like: “Enjoy your meal. Your server will be with you shortly.” — delivered with good tonality and a smile.

2) Server Interaction

The server exhibited similar issues: a lack of upscale, welcoming language and tone. There was minimal attention to detail and no effort to anticipate guest needs. For example, a fan connected to a shaded area near other tables was not turned on prior to seating, which could have helped deter bugs. Only the table fan was running.

I understand that business demands can strain service levels, but the following improvements should be considered:

Use of more professional and polished language

Greater attentiveness when checking on guests

A mindset of: “What can I do to go above and beyond?” — even if not always realistic, it should still be the goal when applicable.

3) Cleanliness

While most of the property was clean, the table where I was seated had bird droppings on both the table and chairs. Additionally, there was a lack of equipment to manage mosquitoes. Other tables were cleaner and better protected by fans or enclosed areas.

Key takeaway: Cleanliness is a shared responsibility. Even if bugs are difficult to control, the table and surrounding area should be cleaned thoroughly before seating guests.
4) Food

The food met expectations and was generally good. However, some of the menu item photos on the website were outdated and could mislead guests who aren’t aware of recent changes. This should be reviewed carefully to avoid confusion.
Final Thoughts

The primary concerns stem from front-of-house service, which can be easily addressed with training and attention to detail. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and used to elevate the guest experience.

Was here when they first opened in 2022 and it is still fantastic. Great service, atmosphere and food is outstanding. Terrific diverse selection of starters and main courses. The spicy feta is spectacular as is the seafood stew and beef rib. The Baklava cheesecake is a welcome alternative to very sweet traditional Baklava. Nothing will disappoint.

My wife and I dined here in June and wanted to bring our family here. The 5 of us gave it 5/5 Stars from the moment we entered to leaving two hours later! Exceptional service and exceptional food. We will continue dining here on a regular basis!

An amazing experience. Everything from the moment we entered the restaurant to our farewell exceeded our expectations.

What an amazing restaurant. Our server Noelle was awesome. The food was so delicious. Cocktails 10/10. We are already planning a return visit!

There is a saying in the industry, “You are only good as your last plate.” And, well, their last four plates sucked! 3 fettuccini and 1 fish. How difficult is it to cook “freshly made” pasta? Clumps in all three. Fish at the coast should be easy peasy. But no, it was greasy greasy. And the nail in the coffin, the front end manager was perturbed that we were disappointed in our clumpy pasta. He said he would comp my plate but it was still on the check when the waitress gave it to me. Hard to ever go back at this point.

Wilmington's most beautiful restaurant. Dining in the garden is restorative. Service is kind and professional. Food is delicious and captures the flavors of the Aegean with sophisticated twists. The wine list is well-curated. Perfection.

We ate for the first time tonight at Kipos’. From the ambiance, to the service , to the food, our experience was magnificent. We had three appetizers (Brussel sprouts , spanakopita, spicy feta) each member of our five person party ordered something different, fettuccine , sea bass, lamb chops, moussaka, and souvlaki. ABSOLUTELY everything was prepared to perfection. For dessert the table shared a slice of their baklava cheesecake, again, heaven. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this restaurant 10/10
