You can really taste the difference in how fresh and authentic the food is. The people running this place are very friendly, super nice family run establishment.

found this hidden gem accidently with my Dad tonight! and I can say that the food is AUTHENTIC! the family who owns this gem are the nicest people and the food reflects the family! the food is amazing! the tamales, tacos, and everything are so delicious. the price is perfect for the portions and was absolutely not disappointed at all! the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere were a breath of fresh air, unlike most snobby places in wilmington!

Fraudulent increase to the tip amount. Already reported to credit card company and got credited. Won’t be going back due to their dishonesty.

Very authentic and clearly local. Stopped by on a day trip to the area and everything was absolutely wonderful!!! Freshly made chips, large beverage selection and the first good full flavored Mexican food I've had in a long time! Im only upset that I can't bring this place home with me.

Great authentic food, and the ladies who run it are fabulous. I’m from CA and grew up eating authentic Mexican food. This place is my go to.

No alcohol, menu limited. Only one employee speaks English.

Came here bc usually hole in the walls are usually the best places, but this place fell way short. Food was very bland and had no flavor. Had to load up on the free sauce just to eat it. Chips and salsa is also extra. Portions were very small too for the prices. Left hungry after spending a good amount on lunch. Feel like we need to go get another meal just to get full. Dont come here if you want Mexican that tastes good.

We really wanted to like La Guera Authentic Mexican, but unfortunately, it just fell short of our expectations. The food was bland and quite expensive for what we received. We paid $55 for two carne asada chimichangas and a chicken quesadilla. While the chimichangas were at least edible, the chicken quesadilla was horrible. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. ??

First time, and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend the chicken tacos, rice, and beans.
