We celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary at The Little Dipper and, unfortunately, our experience was mixed. The highlight of the evening was our server, who went above and beyond to make us feel special. However, we endured an excessively long wait for our food, which took away from the celebration.
To make matters worse, the quality of the dishes has noticeably declined since the change in management. This was our second visit with similar issues of long waits and mediocre food, leaving us disappointed. Given these repeated experiences, we are unlikely to return in the future.

Even though girls night specials were taken away, the new menu of three courses for $29 was delicious and reasonable. Fills you up!

TLDR; I dragged my feet on visiting The Little Dipper for over ten (10) years. If you haven't been - RUN don't walk!
I've lived in Wilmington since roughly 2012 and have always planned on visiting, but dragged my feet until last week. A HUGE mistake!! The partner and I planned a date night, made a reservation, and headed to the Little Dipper to check out their "Traditional" 3 course fondue dinner. We were greeted by the kindest hostess (who sat us five minutes before our reservation) and our server was with us only moments later to take drink orders. Our server was amazing and the service itself was *exceptional! With so many years in the restaurant industry, it does something for my soul when the waitstaff are friendly and obviously enjoy where they're working and what they do! Not only was the service flawless- the food was UNREAL. After visiting a chain fondue restaurant in the area, I thought I "didn't like fondue"- evidently I had never had GOOD fondue! Who knew! The "Chedder Ale" cheese was rich and the depth of flavor had me wanting to lick the bowl. The cheese plate was hearty and filled with meats, breads, crackers, and fruits and (While I can't recall what cooking style we opted for) the filet was butter soft and melted in your mouth.
I CAN'T believe I waited so long to try The Little Dipper, and I can't wait to introduce TLD to my family, friends, coworkers, and clients in the very near future.
Thank you, Little Dipper management and team, for an unforgettable and delicious Thursday afternoon! I'll see you soon! :)

Little Dipper is one of the most unique restaurants in Wilmington. We went for a birthday celebration and everything was delicious.

In town for a wedding, came across this vibrant restaurant. As my better half says, our experience was more of an event than a meal.
We thoroughly enjoyed all four courses, especially the chocolate turtle fondue dessert.
Our server anticipated our pace and was ready and prepared for each successive course.
The main course, consisting of meats, vegetables and starches was well seasoned to perfection in a white wine broth.
What a great experience, as it was coupled with our weekend rehearsal dinner and wedding reception! 3 for 3 in Wilmington NC - John & Sharon - from Pittsburgh PA

We had such an awesome date night experience in Wilmington's best fondue restaurant! The fall drinks were delicious (we had the Velvet Pumpkin and Orchard Old Fashioned). For dinner, I got steak and ahi tuna and she got shrimp and scallops and we shared with each other. The soy ginger was my favorite dipping sauce but yum-yum was also great. I felt like I was going to pop by the time we had the chocolate hot pot with the plate of goodies to dip but I kept pushing on because I couldn't get enough!

Tyler was our server and he was phenomenal! Super attentive and kind- the food was so delicious. This was our second time coming- we came for our anniversary this time and arrived to a sign on the table wishing a happy anniversary and a complimentary slice of cheesecake for dessert. The drinks were delicious, we tried both the fauxtails and the cocktails and were impressed with them all. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you Tyler for such a great service!

Had 7:30 reservation waited in lobby until 7:50. Sat at table for 10 minutes prior to being greeted. Caroline was our server. she was friendly and walked us process and ordering and generally did a good job.
We got cheese fondue. Cheddar and havarti and both tasted good. Then we got chicken, pork, filet, shrimp, vegetables. Was good and dessert was good. I like pineapple with dark chocolate. Had table behind us that was so loud we had difficulty hearing each other. Wishing they could put up sound breaks on ceiling.
