Rotten food. First time trying and won't be back. Chicken on a stick definitely does not taste like chicken. I couldn't tell if I was eating something rotten or if I was eating something that was not chicken. I got the sweet and sour chicken and i came across a few pieces that were also rotten,I got the crab rangon as well(hard and stail). I never leave bad reviews but this place was just nasty, hope it helps you when your trying to find a good place to eat.

As a vegetarian, I’m of the mindset that Chinese is a reasonably safe bet, it was not with Half Moon. When I walked in, the two young men were sitting at one of the tables (yes the ones you eat at, if you were dining in) cleaning snow peas. I said hello & walked to the counter, the fellas walked behind the counter one to take my order the other to prepare. I had to inform the fella who attempted to prepare my food that he’d need to wash his hands (smh). Long story short my egg drop soup was too gelatinous and unflavored and the veggie fried rice tasted as if the rice was prepared the day before and rewarmed, it was mushy and had no flavor. I’m glad this was my last time visiting Wilmington and if it wasn’t, I’d never dine at Half Moon again.

Beef & Broccoli was made with rancid meat; tasted and smelled like it was cooked last week.Sesame chicken was overcooked and clearly old.Egg rolls were fried and slimy inside.I should have known better when the sanitation grade was scored a 90. They paid off someone to get that score!

They had a 90 health grade. I feel bad for the young men that work there. The woman treated them very bad while I was there. She had the most hateful, mean look on her face with her arms folded, shaking her head in discust bc I asked for extra sauce. My chicken was undercooked, so I ate rice noodles for my Friday night dinner. I know they are a small business, but you couldn't pay me to go back. With that kind of service, I can't see how they will be open much longer. Sad but true.

The chicken has enough feathers left on it to fly. And the food is prepared with poor quality.

The employees (cashier, cook, maybe the owner as well .) very standoffish almost to the point of being rude. No one greeted you. No one said thank you no one even smiled. The lady nor the two young men. There’s too many restaurants located in Wilmington/ shipyard area that would be more than happy to have customers whom are polite, nice, and paying customers to deal with, the demeanor of these individuals, I will not be returning to this establishment! Food was just mediocre “typical run of the day storefront Chinese food.”

Spoiled creamcheese in crab Rangoon. Soup tasted like plain hot water. Absolutely terrible. Never again.
The food is not as good as other places in town, in my opinion.

Yang chow fried rice was missing ingredients (no peas) and was very bland. Char siu (pork) was anemic and very artificial tasting. Shrimp was OK in terms of freshness but seemed to lack skill in preparation as it was mildly gelatinous. Portion size was large as there was a lot of rice. Egg was minimal.I wasn't expecting authenticity but just something tasty; alas, I was still disappointed.
