This place used to be good, new owners and the food is trash now.
Mamma Lucia's has been one of my favorite places to eat for the past ten years. Every dish I've had there has always been fresh and delicious. The owner always came out of the kitchen to check on us and was a delight. She brought an authentic Italian food and experience to Wilmington. Unfortunately, she is closing the restaurant to pursue other interests. Last night was the last time I will enjoy the cooking at Mamma Lucia's.

The atmosphere was horrible as the AC was out which should have been our first sign to leave. However my father in law really wanted authentic Italian. So we decided to stay and eat outside on the patio. The Pollo Limon was absolutely disgraceful! It was flavorless and had one thin chicken breast with spaghetti. The lemon cream sauce was inedible due to being very oily. My mother in law and I were sharing this entree and we sent it back. The lady refused to take it off the bill even though we did not eat it. She said there was nothing wrong with the dish and it was because of our taste. She was very aggressive and angry with her response. Ultimately the entree and splitting fee were removed from our bill but not without this lady telling me to never return. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. I hope the owners see this review and address this terrible behavior she had dark hair and stated she just worked in the kitchen. Perhaps she needs to stay in the kitchen and not interact with the public as she clearly does not understand customer service. But not to worry we will never return to this restaurant.

This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever encountered in the 10 years we've been in Wilmington NC. First the AC was broken which made for an unpleasant atmosphere. The Pollo Limon was not good it lacked flavor and the cream and butter separated making it truly inedible. An older lady with dark hair stated she worked in the kitchen was extremely disrespectful when I sent back the entree. She stated that it was my issue not hers and she refused to take it off the bill. I informed her she was being disrespectful and I was the customer and she grew more aggressive with her tone. Ultimately the entree and splitting fee were taken off the bill but not without telling me to never come back. I would not recommend this restaurant. This is restaurant is a disgrace to Wilmington Restaurant community! Don’t worry we will never return due to the disrespect we were shown.

What can I say? It was so much food, and the food was delicious. Customer service was on point also. Don’t know which one I liked better the big ziti or the chicken Parmesan. I will be Back.

THE STRAIGHT UP BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER EATEN AT!!!! ?????
Kid-friendliness: ♾️/10 very t very good food for most ages I would personally say that the amours of food are big and very much worth the price but usually a little to much for me to finish so for a kid I would recommend sharing food with them❤️

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Mamma Lucia! Highly recommend the linguini with clams!
A diamond in the rough (not a primo location and underwhelming appearance) but AMAZING! A typical Italian is made special because of the dressing-the dressings are homemade and taste like it! Ask for the bread-it’s fresh and the dipping oil has balsamic vinegar in it making it all the better! We had lasagna which was cooked to order served straight out of the oven still sizzling in the piping hot dish and delicious!! The Basil Chicken Cody is one of the best Italian dishes we’ve ever had! We would highly recommend these dishes but I feel sure everything is incredible. A bonus-the service was great too! We will definitely go back to see!!

The Food is Extraordinary, I loved how the Italian red wine was a great combination with that homemade Italian sauce . I felt like I was in Italy.

Just go to Carraba's. They are a bit cheaper, have a nicer dining area, and give you bigger portions. I literally can't think of one advantage that Mamma Lucia has over them.

Never even made it in the door. Got there early waited in the car. At 4:15 we left. They never opened the door.
Can they stop feeding the feral cats please they keep multiplying and killing the squirrels and birds
Great food! An Italian friend of mine suggested this place, and it beat our expectations. The waiter was brand new, so the service wasn’t exemplary, but it wasn’t bad either. Just new.
