Currently visiting Wilmington for 2 weeks and decided to check out this known burger spot after seeing it multiple times online. Upon entering I was greeted by very friendly staff that kindly explained the menu to me aswell as some specials they had, I decided to go with her recommendation, the limited time Jalapeño popper burger and it definitely lived up to the hype! It’s very rare that I find a burger I actually like and this clicked all buttons for me! Soft but sturdy bun, perfect amount of sauce, fresh & juicy patties, and perfect amount of fresh toppings. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area and I’ll be back for seconds before I head home 😂🔥 10/10

This is one of my favorite places to get a burger. Absolutely delicious!! If you haven’t gone, you have too. The atmosphere is good, restrooms are cleans & the staff are very helpful.

Unfriendly for the most part, seem to be entitled to your tip before services even been rendered. Could have just been the two times that I went in was the same work staff. I do try to be understanding considering I don’t know what customers they dealt with before. But a cashier should not be announcing what you did or did not tip, to other staff members before you can give them a cash tip. Can honestly say I will not be back.
Great old fashioned burgers 🍔 and tater tots. My son and I had a couple of their “old fashioned” burgers last night when we were at The Rift which is right next door. Huge, very tasty and juicy burgers. Delicious and would recommend the Mess Hall to anyone going to The Rift and looking for something other than their pizza or nachos. I look forward to sampling for of the menu the next time I visit.

I recently checked out Mess Hall ILM in Wilmington, NC, and it definitely lives up to the buzz. The space is very nice and clean, with a modern industrial look that gives it a cool, laid back vibe. It is the kind of place that feels perfect to hang out with friends for a while rather than just grabbing food and leaving.
The service was very quick, and everything came out hot and fresh without much of a wait. Now let’s talk about the food. The burger is easily the best in ILM, juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Paired with their tater tots, which are crispy and perfectly seasoned, it is a simple combo done extremely well.
It is a little pricey for just a burger and tots, but the quality and overall experience make it worth it if you are in the mood for one of the best in town. One thing to note is that it can get a bit loud, mainly because of the high ceilings and metal walls that echo sound around the space.
Overall, Mess Hall ILM is a great spot with amazing burgers, fast service, and a cool atmosphere. If you are in Wilmington and craving a top tier burger, this is the place to go.
