Moe's Original BBQ - Wilmington

Foods fantastic. Service is nice and friendly. The kitchen forgot the ribs I ordered as an add moe. They made up for it quickly and added even moe.

I've been driving by Moe's since I moved here in 2022. I finally stopped. It was okay. I guess it's Alabama type barbeque. I had a lot of questions and the bartender seemed like my questions annoyed her - or didn't really want to answer. I ordered To Go:
1/2 lb barbeque (way too much)
Side of ribs (two ribs)
Sides:
Fried Green Tomatoes
Slaw (told it was not cream slaw and more vinegar - which it wasn't)
Potato salad - told mayo & mustard base with a bunch of vegetables.
Banana Pudding - okay.

I didn't Love any of it.
Meat was just okay.
Slaw was dry and basically just cabbage.
Potato salad was terrible. I added mayo & lil mustard at home. It became edible.
Fried Green tomatos were okay.
The pickle were great.

I won't get food from there again.

The young man behind the counter had customer service skills.
The female bartender should brush up on basic customer skills. Like when to say Thank You or can I get you anything else or come again or would like another drink - those things.

I went there and had a catfish dinner. It was good. I got two sides with cornbread. The baked beans were really good. They were sweet and spicy without being too hot. Potato salad appeared to be from scratch with a lot of colors but kind of had a watery flavor. The cornbread was sweet I thought I tasted hints of jalapeno. It was heated on the flat iron and toasted in butter. Which I like very much. The catfish didn't taste muddy but the breading didn't have much flavor either.

I was really excited to try this place but the food I got was cold, which was really disappointing. Their mac and cheese was burned and dry, too. I'm thinking I got the wrong thing, because everyone else seemed to enjoy their food! lol

OMG how have I not been here before?!?!! I have seen all the recommendations just haven't been in that area when it's time to grub. Those smoked wings were flash fried to perfection and went perfect with some buffalo dipping sauce! My buddy and I also shared the pulled pork nacho platter and we were both stuffed and overly satisfied with our meal! They also had a great selection in draught that I wasn't expecting.

Smoked chicken, pulled pork, cold beer while listening to live music and if there is no live music hearing Guns n Roses, Van Halen, etc.. overhead. What else do you need??? C'mon man this place is awesome 👍😎.

Always the best wings in Wilmington. The Limas beans are delicious. Great vibe. Live music at times.

Went on Sunday evening and waited 30 min for cold food. Been going to moes for 15+ years at their first locations in AL and have never had such an experience. Hope this was an off night.
