I don't normally leave reviews but I absolutely LOVE Port City Java! The team at Portersneck is so kind and even takes the time to get to know you. Every time I go there, I don't feel like a stranger. The coffee and food is delicious and fairly priced. The wait is typically a couple minutes but may be longer depending on the time of day. But that's only because they make everybody's order with so much care, even under rush hour pressure. Best local coffee shop in town!

I don't know what has happened to Port City Java but they are the worst coffee place to go to in town at every location. The people ask you to leave a tip every single time you go there and they take literally 20 minutes at the drive-thru almost every time I go there maybe 10 to 15 minutes if you're lucky period I will absolutely 100% never return. Also the employees asking for tips and then staring down on you when you say no because they took 20 minutes is pretty sick

I want to like PCJ because it’s local but I am SO uncomfortable ordering there because if you pay with a card they ASK you if you would like to put a tip on the card. The coffee is already expensive (and not even better than the cheaper options) I can’t leave a tip every time and I just hate saying no. They tell you it’s optional but it’s still awkward and uncomfortable.

Walked in 30 min before closing time in which I instantly heard sighs from the girls working there. I asked them if they were still open in which I got an attitude answer! I understand starting to wrap things up but don’t treat your paying customers with an attitude when you are still open! Try being a little more friendly if you want customers ….

I moved to Wilmington in January and started going here because it’s super close to my place. There is one specific employee that is EXTREMELY rude to me every single time I go through the drive thru. I order a Vanilla Breve. It’s a real drink and a real term and he consistently asks stuff like oh so you want a latte with heavy cream? Or he’ll say so you want half n half with ice knowing full well what it is because I’ve had issues with him for over a few months now. Now it’s not only him but at least 3 other employees who treat me like absolute crap every time I order it and make me feel like I’m stupid and my drink order isn’t real? Like GOOGLE what a Vanilla Breve is? It’s not a latte. I have a full blown video of him mocking my fiancé after I went inside to have him fix my drink after he messed it up where he made rude remarks about how I didn’t have to pay for a remake at least since I have my “preferences” I’ve asked to speak to an owner both on FB messenger and Instagram because how else do I get this resolved and have never gotten a response. I’ve worked in coffee for 10 years and never have I ever treated someone so terribly.

I went on an early Saturday and arrived around 8:25. They made me wait 20 minutes before taking my order and there was only one car in front of me waiting at the window. Once I got to the window they confused my order with someone else’s and then proceeded to take almost 15 minutes to actually hand me my bagel. The bagel wasn’t even that good it was overcooked. I wouldn’t recommend coming to this location they take forever with their service.

Every single time I have been to this location, I am always greeted with a warm welcome and a knowledgable barista. Everyone is super friendly, helpful, and provides excellent service. This is my go-to location when I am in the area.

The person on staff was nice enough. Latte was ok. The blueberry muffin was old tasting, gummy on top and tasted like it had freezer burn or had been kept around too long. It seems like it's impossible to get quality pastry items with a coffee anywhere outside a major city.
