Amazing place and community. Some i have met there have been there for me when noone was. Lots of different types of people and personalities, yet a commonality between almost everyone ive met there is respect and kindness.
The average person I meet here is way more interesting and authentic than the average person I meet at bars. Sometimes i go here not to socialize, but to work on my laptop, like a coffee lounge. In short, whether you want to socialize, or study or get work done, this is an awesome place.

Really loved the drinks here, both the handmade drinks and the canned ones they stock. Good prices. Good service. Some locker room talk from staff members that I’d have preferred not to hear. Let’s keep it professional. I will return however. Overall good place!

I showed up for the first time tonight not knowing what to expect. This isn't my first kava bar, so I had quite a few to compare to. I have to say, the kindness and community I found at Rooted is unmatched!
I didn't know it was a cash-only bar, and someone actually paid for my drink. I wanted to play for the open mic, but I showed up 1.5hr late after all the slots had been taken. Tut, the awesome MC and host of the night, was gracious enough to let me play a few songs anyway.
I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Thanks for a great night! 10/10 would recommend!!

regular for over a year, kava enthusiast for several. coming from Florida, I was disappointed at the lack of kava options in NC- however, Rooted has helped me feel far less homesick- and furthermore, surpasses most bars I've tried in Florida.
GREAT product and FANTASTIC employees. there's a myriad of options, and the kavatenders make you feel right at home!! the kratom and kava are powerful and priced fairly. hands-down my favorite hangout spot!

I happened to be out of town (I live 2 hours away from Wilmington) a few weeks ago for a last minute day trip to the beach. I was curious if there was any kava bars in Wilmington and decided to try Rooted out.
Let me start by saying Adam is super friendly and his customer service is phenomenal. He made conversation, gave me drink recommendations and answered some questions I had about the menu, as it’s much larger than the kava bar near me. I was super impressed, so impressed that I made the two hour drive last night just to come back to bring my husband. He remembered me from my last trip as well, which was really nice and really makes you comfortable.
The atmosphere is super cozy and such a vibe, the kava is amazing but my favorite were the Kratom ginger teas. The prices are extremely reasonable, they have a huge selection, plus other herbal shots and elixirs and gummies you can take home. They also have a massive fridge with soda, canned kava seltzers, etc. They have tons of interesting imported snacks as well.
I really wish Rooted was closer because id be here multiple times a week!!
They are cash only but they do have an ATM available.

The main reason I go to Rooted Kava is because of the service. Dee is the complete example of customer service keeps a smile on her face. Provides great energy with a touch of southern sweetness. I appreciate her positive energy ☮️

i’ve been a regular here for over two years now, and i absolutely love this place. i know all of the staff who work here, and am friends with all the other regulars. the people who go here are all very open minded and friendly, and have kept me safe as a young woman who likes to go out late at night. the atmosphere has always been wonderful, the decorations and paintings really set a great vibe in the place. i have made lifelong friends of all ages here, and while i may not get along with every customer here, this is no fault or responsibility of the establishment or staff. rooted has given me a safe space that i feel comfortable going to at any time of the day or week, and they continually have kicked out people who come in abusing alcohol or hard drugs, which is also comforting as a young woman. this is a wonderful place for people of all ages and backgrounds and i couldn’t appreciate it more. i recommend rooted to anyone who lives in the wilmington area!
