Celtic Monkey Irish Pub and Grill

I didn't have a lot of time to eat lunch and this restaurant was close to where I needed to be. I have to be careful about what I eat now because of allergies, and I found that I could eat a lot of things on their menu so I was pretty excited about that. It also seemed like a really friendly homey environment and the staff was so kind and supportive. I'll definitely be going back when I'm in the area again because their food is amazing. I got a beet salad and it has this delicious mango dressing which I've never had before or even heard of and it was divine

I had the most mediocre shepherds pie 🥧. Lacked flavor amd seasoning. The best thing at the table was the fresh onion straws. I would not return

The atmosphere is a good vibe on a Friday evening, busy but not too loud. Some of the better pricing in the area, very fair for the quality and amount of food. My waitress was fine. The tap water was kind of gross which is normal for the area but unfortunately meant my cocktail that was part club soda was also gross. The food was good, had the wings (bbq rub) but the rub was very light, barely any seasoning but not the end of the world so I would suggest getting a saucy wing instead. Fish and chips was good but the fish needed a minute less in the fryer as it was slightly over cooked. Fries were good and clearly cut/made in house. The tartar sauce, ranch, and blue cheese were all good. I did order the wings as an app and the entree came out while I was in the middle of eating only my second wing. I paid cash and my waitress, although I’m sure accidentally, shorted the change by a dollar. I had intentionally given exact coins to get a dollar amount back and was shorted a dollar, not a big deal, just a dollar I know, but also servers/bar should be careful when counting change for customers. Since I’m in the industry I like to have leniency with mistakes and tip above 20% but that kind of rubbed me the wrong way since change is something you shouldn’t be making mistakes with.

Someone recommended this place to me, so we gave it a shot today.

Lunch was great! I had the combo (half sandwich and a choice of salad or soup) Reuben sandwich with their soup of the day: loaded potato soup. Wow, that soup was so delicious! Thanks to our waitress who recommended it to me. It had nice chunks of potatoes, bacon, onions, scallions, diced ham, and topped with cheddar cheese. The sandwich was good, but not a whole lot of meat. However, for me, it was enough. And it wasn't drenched in the dressing, but a nice amount.

DH had the steak and Guinness pie, which was topped with a puff pastry. The meat was very tender and it included carrots, peas, and potatoes. He did say the dish had potatoes on one half and meat on the other half. It should be added to the plate evenly. In any case, he enjoyed it.

We had good service by our waitress, who was kind to give recommendations.

Casual atmosphere. Uncomfortable seats. The bathrooms need a good cleaning.

Reasonable prices and a nice menu with a variety of foods.

Overall, a good Irish pub. We will be back with friends.

Excellent food. Was worth the drive. Quick response by the waiter at the bar and got us a seat and a waitress. Ambience is great.
Outdoor seating available. People smoke outside. So when doors are opened, you may get a blast of it. Recommend MGMT to setup a positive airflow in HVAC to avoid this.
