I love going to South Front Tavern with friends and family, I’ve been here on multiple occasions and it never disappoints. Our servers, such as Hailey, are always incredibly attentive and a joy to be around. The owner is also usually at the restaurant which shows how much he cares about the satisfaction of customers. Best time to go is weekends for dinner! Must try!

We went to try out the smash burger and fries for their Thursday night special. Not only was the food fantastic the service was spectacular. Mark stopped by our table to ask how the food was and he was super nice! Told him our daughter Taylor just moved to Wilmington and he was above and beyond nice! We will for sure be back along with bringing some friends. Atmosphere was great as well along with very nice outdoor seating! Great place!!!

The smash burger and slaw were both incredible! Service was 10/10 and the manager was super thoughtful and kind. They have a lovely patio that’s dog friendly and wonderful daily specials. We will be back and recommend it to everyone.

The food is phenomenal — every dish is full of flavor and clearly made with care. Whether you’re grabbing a burger, a shareable appetizer, or one of their creative specials, you can taste the quality in every bite. The drinks are equally impressive, with a great selection of craft cocktails, beer, and wine that pair perfectly with the menu.
The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely make you feel at home. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in the whole experience.
If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out — South Front Tavern is a true Wilmington treasure!

Why is this place not standing room only??? Amazing food…..we had Plancha Burger, Wild Mushroom Quesadilla, Bacon and Egg Wrap and the most fantastic biscuits. Bloody Maria best around. Service is always first rate and outdoor dining great for people watching or bringing your pup. Best of all they take reservations so no waiting!!! Been here 8-10 times since they opened for lunch, dinner and brunch. Never a disappointing meal.

We’ve been wanting to try this place, and we’re very pleased with our experience. I had the crab cakes, which were delicious. Normally, I use whatever sauce comes with them. These were light and flavorful on their own.
My husband had the grilled chicken club wrap, except they were out of tortilla wrap. The manager/owner (Mark) came over right away, apologized and gave him other bread options. My husband also ordered the chopped salad. The waitress told us it was a big salad and we could order half if we wanted. It’s no often half size specialty salads are offered.
Our cocktails were delicious and priced right for the quality.
On the way out I mentioned that it would be nice to have a crab cake sandwich on the menu. The manager said they offer it on the lunch menu but I can request it for dinner.
We will definitely be back.

Stopped in for dinner based on reviews. My husband ordered the $5 smash burger and wings. The wings were coated with a dark sticky sauce that did t taste great and the smash burger was dry and overcooked. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp and I basically got a plate of wet lettuce with five shrimp. The owner stopped by to apologize for the service as they were short one server , however that was the least of our concerns. Our waitress was fine but the food was a disappointment.

Great experience all around. First time customers and the owner Mark was amazing. He kept checking in on us and telling us a little bit about the restaurant. Even gave us free soup to try! Overall great food and great service. Will definitely be going back.
