I was not as impressed as I thought I would be. There is a lot of hype about this restaurant and a $25 holding fee for a reservation. You need to have reservations! Our server, Nicole was attentive and helpful. We sat outside and it wasn’t too bad with the heaters. The arancini was my favorite dish of the night. My husband loved the bread and had a seasonal dish with the homemade pasta, grilled chicken, spinach, and butternut squash. He really liked it and I thought it was just OK. I had the homemade meatballs. The texture was fine, but they had entirely too much salt to be enjoyable. We ordered the cannolis and they were just OK. The shell was crispy but the filling was light too creamy, almost like frosting. I would give it 3 1/2 stars, but that wasn’t an option. I did give it four stars because of the server and the arancini but I would not go back.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience warrants one. We came in to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and expected a great evening. Shortly after sitting down, we clearly informed our server of my shellfish allergy. Despite this, when our food arrived, I was served an entirely different dish than what I ordered—and it contained shellfish. I notified the server once he came back to our table because a different food runner brought it out to us initially. (about 5 min) The server said he would fix it. After a few minutes, I decided I no longer wanted the replacement dish. The server responded that it was “almost done” and later suggested I could take it to go. I declined, as I was uninterested in leftovers after the initial mistake. (Wasn’t excited about leftover fish. Again, allergic to SHELLfish, not fish) I want to be fair: I understand mistakes happen, especially when restaurants are busy. I still tipped on the original bill and even went out of my way to find him again to give him another additional tip after noticing he had a UNCW sticker on his book—my sister attends UNCW and is also in the service industry, so I appreciated his generally positive demeanor and had a soft spot for a college student out here doing his best. What stood out to me though was that no manager ever came to our table to acknowledge or address the allergy-related mistake. It felt as though I was expected to resolve the situation myself, despite the seriousness of the error. Then the experience became *more* troubling when I briefly returned to the restaurant to use the restroom and overheard the server using vulgar language while speaking about the situation to another coworker or manager on duty. They both were laughing and calling names at the situation. That moment stayed with me and ultimately led me to write this review. Food allergies should always be handled with care and professionalism, and situations like this should involve management. I hope this feedback helps improve training and accountability moving forward.

The service and food wasn't worth the price. It was a lovely ambience, but too loud. I can't recommend it.

Tarantelli's in Wilmington, NC was the perfect pick for my husband's birthday dinner. The food was ridiculously good, and our waiter Gavin nailed it with friendly, top-notch service. The atmosphere has that cozy-but-lively charm that makes the whole experience feel extra special. If you're anywhere near Wilmington, put this place on your list. And honestly—when an authentic Italian hands out 5 stars, you know you've found something special!

This is a high end, fine dining experience. With that, expectations for the money paid becomes a determining factor. Our party of 4 was happy with our experience overall, but felt some disappointment.

It was difficult to find our waiter to fill our water glasses and get additional beer/wine. Our glasses sat empty for long periods of time. Two of us ordered the red snapper special. With the lighting, I really had no clue what I ate although it had good taste. My wife was very happy with her veal marsala and the mushrooms served in it. I regret we did not get the cheese wheel dish as it would have been a better value. At the time we ordered, it felt gimicky but as we saw other tables getting it, we wished we would have.

Overall, I just don't think the value was there. It's very expensive for subpar service.

We are always impressed with the service and food, that's what keeps us coming back. We will try everything on the menu at some point.

The food was delicious. The fall menu is excellent! Great wine choices and the coconut cake is my favorite.

Not as great as the first time. Server didn't engage well. Don't care for the tomato sauce on the Parmesan cream (cheese wheel) station. Cheese should be enough! Otherwise, always good!
