Having traveled to Germany and lived in Chicago where I was able to enjoy phenomenal German restaurants like The Beghoff and Laschet’s Inn, I know good pork schnitzel when I get it. The German Cafe has some of the best I have ever had! Their German potato salad was also absolutely fantastic. I must add that finishing the whole meal off with their blackberry brandy was definitely the way to go. Experience it for yourself. You will not be disappointed!! Ohhh…. And the atmosphere...

We stopped in for a late Sunday lunch at The German Café, located inside the Cotton Exchange in downtown Wilmington. The restaurant has a great historic ambiance—exposed brick walls, old-world décor, German flags, and vintage beer signs give it an authentic and cozy European vibe.\n\nWe kicked things off with the baked pretzel, and it was excellent—crispy outside, soft inside, and served warm.
