The Getaway Cafe and Provisions

So good! Just what I needed this morning. I’m a home espresso snob and normally make my lattes at home. The mocha latte was one of the best I’ve had outside of my house. Locally it’s my new favorite! And the chicken biscuit was delicious. Hit all the right notes. Friendly, clean. I have a new favorite spot.

🐔🔥 This Chicken Sandwich Changed My Life (Almost)

Listen… I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic The Getaway is working in Riverlights, but this hot honey fried chicken sandwich is criminally good. Like, “I’d fight my own reflection for the last bite” good.

The chicken? Crispy enough to hear it in stereo. The hot honey? Sweet, spicy, and just disrespectful in the best way. The bun? Soft like a cloud, but sturdy like it’s been through something. And the greens? I mean sure, they’re probably in there for health reasons, but I’m not mad at ’em.

Oh — and the chips? Thicc, crunchy, and clearly fried by someone who knows what they’re doing. I didn’t even ask for chips, but now I’m considering writing them into my will.

Was this meal spiritual? Almost. Am I coming back tomorrow? Already halfway there

Awesome brunch! 😋 Enjoyed the beautiful Riverwalk, soaking up the sun after a wonderful meal.

I got a chance to try the getaway yesterday and was just blown away by how good everything was. when I took a sip of my chai tea, I literally said outlaid, wow that's good. I got the turkey stew and it was so flavorful and came with two pieces of crusty bread. I cant wait to go back and try more menu items.

I ordered the hummus feta sandwich, thinking it would be "healthy." I was wrong, but OMG, was it delicious!! My husband would give the chicken biscuit sandwich 4 stars. Overall, it was a tasty and filling brunch.

My absolute favorite place to eat in Wilmington for breakfast and lunch!! Food is always delicious, best lattes and you can’t go wrong with ordering a frozen mimosa! Location is perfect for a walk before or after along the river.

Delicious food! I got 2 cookies. One Caramel Apple Oatmeal and the other is chocolate. I prefer Chocolate chip, soo soft and delicious 😋 Also, got the Grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque soup. Soo worth it!!! Warm and cheesy 😄I will return...Also near a lake and board walk

Stopped in for a FroMo, Tuna Salad sandwich and to sample the biscuits! Staff was incredibly friendly and prompt! The food was dynamite. Highly recommend, can’t wait to eat here again on our next visit to Wilmington!

Super cute and chill cafe. The best place to work or just sit and yap. The breakfast sandwich on a biscuit was so good! I was pleasantly impressed and the hot chocolate was really cute!

Great local cafe! Love their lattes and the granola yogurt parfait. Slightly expensive, but high quality food. Lots of GF options for those with restrictions.

The Getaway Cafe is ON POINT with everything they do. From the food, to the ambiance and customer service. I have tried many items on the menu and have never been disappointed. All the items on their menu for either breakfast or lunch are so tasty and the quality is outstanding. Highly recommended for anyone that lives in ILM!!
