Order a Corn Beef Sandwich very disappointing very greasy corn beef full of fat that should have been trimmed off. I would not have even given a star had it not been for the fries. If I had been close I would have bought it back. Due to the distance it went in the trash. I counted it as 17 + for fries. I have had Harp food B4 closer so I expect it to be what it had been before (good food. The music and atmosphere are still mellow. However I came to pick up food.

Over priced average food

New owners starting to turn things around. Not quite there yet.

Awesome little Irish pub, the most Irish pub of all the pubs in Wilmington. Nice respite from the sun in the cool, dark interior. Definitely recommend the Reuben, generous portions of everything I saw. Went at lunch, I suspect it gets rowdy at night.

This place is under new ownership. The new outside paint job, wow, it's pretty bold! It reminds me of a Chinese restaurant with the bright red and yellow colors. The building certainly needed a paint job.

Four of us had reservations and our table was ready when we arrived. We've eaten here several times in the past and were looking forward to a good dinner. The place was pretty full. We ordered drinks to start. Mine was missing for 7-8 minutes after the rest got theirs. Our waitress was apologetic.

I ordered the Shepherd's pie, which was always my favorite there, and a side salad with blue cheese on the side. My husband ordered the fish and chips. One friend ordered the Irish fried chicken sandwich and a side salad, also with blue cheese dressing. Our other friend wanted a Caesar salad (but it's no longer on the menu) and soup of the day. The waitress said the chef was not making soup because it was hot outside. We scratched our heads at that comment. My friend ended up ordering the steak salad.

While waiting, the waitress came out with a very small bowl of blue cheese dressing. Hmmm, was that for two of us to share?

Three entrees came out, followed by one salad a few minutes later. The fried chicken sandwich and other salad didn't show up....for long time. The waitress could have brought the salad out. Something happened that the kitchen dropped the ball on his order.

His finally came out after the three of us were just about done with our meal. His chicken breast was small. He had to ask for his blue cheese dressing and the waitress looked at the bowl that was in front of me with an expression that made us think we did have to share it. It was enough for one salad, not two. She did bring out some for him.

My friends steak salad was served in a huge, deep bowl. The amount of salad could have fed all four of us. It was topped with the steak, which wasn't a big portion and on the dry side.

I was disappointed with the Shepherd's pie. The mashed potatoes, thick dollops instead of the potatoes spread out in an even layer, were on the dry side, not creamy at all. The ground beef and vegetables were okay, just not a lot of flavor.

My husband's fish and chips were very good. A big piece of battered fish! The fries were good too. It was probably the best meal of the night.

The waitress gave a 10% discount to our friend who had to wait a long time for his meal. My husband and I also got a 10% discount, which was unnecessary. Honestly, our friend's meal should have been taken off the bill in its entirety.

Then when we get the bill, there is some sort of surcharge, which the waitress couldn't explain was it was for. The staff should know, and it should be annotated on the menu. Be up front with your extra charges, don't make customers find out at the end of the meal. I even heard one person at the table next to us also question this surcharge.

Overall, a disappointing dinner. There were too many negatives over positives. We did note that there were only two waitresses and if I remember correctly, ours was fairly new to the place. But what happened with the missing meal that took so long to get to the table?

Will we come back? I'm not sure.

I was so excited to go to The Harp because we had family visiting from Ireland and I was told it was the best authentic Irish food in Wilmington. WRONG. It was the WORST experience I’ve ever had. There were only 2 other tables dinning while we were there. Our waitress, Jennifer was not one bit attentive to us. We were in the middle of ordering drinks and as my mother in law was speaking, she just walked away to do something at another table. We then had to keep asking her to refill our drinks- not once in the HOUR we were waiting for our food did she come to check on us. Instead, she kept walking past us and avoiding all eye contact. When we did get our food we got wrong orders. The rice was also hard and the food was ice cold. Two of us couldn’t even eat our food. When I asked the waitress, Jennifer, if one of our children’s food order was coming because all the food was dropped off except that and it had been a bit, she became very rude towards me. When I said about the cold food, her response was the heat lamps in the kitchen must not be working, and she also made a comment about having 2 new staff members and how she had to train them and she had to do all 3 tables herself, that she was not expecting a Sunday to be this busy- bless her heart. I had to tell her not to speak to me like the way she did, that we are paying customers and we should never be spoken to the way she spoke to us. I asked for a manager and her response was that she had worked there for 12 years and walked away. Twelve years in the business and she doesn’t even understand the basics of customer service and restaurant service. Don’t waste your time and money going to the Harp unless you want to be spoken to rudely, deal with incompetent wait staff, have cold and terrible food and have an absolute terrible experience over all. We obviously will never be back and we would never wish this experience on anyone else.

The restaurant has always been SHUT DOWN by 8pm on Tuesday nights, never had the ability to get food when arriving at 8pm. Bar stays open on Tuesday nights (without any Tea for patrons, bc they dump it) until at least 12pm as karaoke is 8-12. I've been a few times and have only had good service once. Other times I'm waiting for the bartender to come back to close out the tab, as only one is working (not good for ONE woman to close any bar in dt wilm ALONE), the shoe molding is broken off in the ladies room and has never been fixed, so the place is falling apart and nothing is being done to fix it (how can you not notice chunks of sheet-rock falling out of a huge hole at the door?). I've gotten great service from one bartender a few months ago, but the waitress who gave me a menu never came back to see if we DID want food or to get the menu. SO, it seems they CLOSE THE FOOD SERVICE OPTION at 8pm and do not want ANYONE to sit in the restaurant section for that reason, as we've been told to NOT sit there by a waitress on August 20th. Could use some info on the website stating they do NOT serve food after 8pm and We'd go somewhere else for food before coming to drink a few and sing a few.
