We had a great meal! Atmosphere and service did not disappoint. We had crap dip, low country platter, clam chowder and oysters. Everything was fresh and flavorful, no complaints at all. Reservations were easy. Definitely recommend.
First time in. What a neat restaurant tucked into a strip mall in Porters Neck. The oysters were awesome. We had chowder and gumbo and both were superb. The manager was so apologetic because they were a tad understaffed but it really wasn’t an issue. We definitely will keep Tidewater high on the rotation. I think you’ll enjoy it as well. Give it a try.
Average local restaurant.
A wonderful place to eat. The oysters were great and the beer cold. Our waitress Jean was the best, great personality
Everything was wonderfull This is an easy spot to miss one of the best spots in the whole area!
Oysters superb!! Icy cold. Tangy cocktail sauce. Crisp vinegar dip. Fried oysters crisp. Bella our server was a doll with a great braid hairdo she is proud to have done by herself!! Only teeny negative, the tidewater stew was a little bit salty; the taste was awesome, but salty for the old lady dietary needs.
I had a great experience at Tidewater. Raw oysters and Tidewater Stew were both delicious, however the service was what really stood out. Solo business travelers are easy to forget about on a busy night but staff at Tidewater were attentive and friendly. Easy spot to recommend for fresh seafood.

Great as always. They know how to make a roux. Its about time someone has the knowledge in this area. Dont change a thing except bring in some VA bluepionts. Yum for Tidewater
First time in tonight. Had the Oysters Rockefeller, the black drum ceviche, and the fried flounder! All were incredible! We also ordered a few of the Bloody Mary oyster shooters and they were as delicious as they were aesthetic! Our server was great though I forgot to get her name, as was the manager who stopped in to check on us!
I grew up in Wilmington, eating oysters fresh from the water. It’s so disappointing going to restaurants and trying to find fresh oysters of any size now. Friday I decided to try Tidewater and get some oysters. I didn’t get my hopes up but I was craving oysters. Jean greeted me and introduced me to Justin. Explaining that I was often not happy with the oysters served at other bars he assured me that would not be the experience I would have here. 24 oysters later accompanied with horseradish, crackers and other sauces I was full and let them know that this would be the first time in YEARS I left an oyster bar satisfied. Hands down the best oyster bar, best employees and atmosphere in Wilmington
