First, I am PICKY w my Asian takeout, it’s been 9 yrs since I’ve found a good place. Moved here a few months ago, tried this based on the food images, and it was a WIN!Savory deliciousness! Ordered crab rangoon, chicken hibachi w veggies and fried rice, and shrimp tempura with veggie lo mein. The chicken was actual cut white meat pieces, fried rice was steamed(not boiled) rice that had been fried, and the shrimp tempura was nice and crispy. Wasn’t a super fan of the lo mein flavor but the texture was great, not mushy!

This place was great! The food is cooked fresh made to order, and the owner is such a sweet gentleman. We found this place on a whim for lunch and we were very happy with our experience. Will come back again and suggest you try it out too.

The food was decent but not the best hibachi I have had. We ordered off uber eats not in person. Maybe the restaurant itself is better. It’s also very frustrating that they don’t list that they add mushrooms to both the steak and noodles. It’s also overpriced for what you are getting.

Had hibachi steak and chicken before and it was really good, but ordered on Sunday and it was not. Both meats were really dry and flavorless. Hope it was just an off day.

I’m not typically one for a negative review, but our food here very poor. We ordered two hibachi chicken dinners, California roll and a small side of rice and paid $50. That’s high! Especially since the chicken is thigh meat with skin on. Hibachi should
Be breast! It’s hard to mess up a cali roll and this roll went into the trash. We tried!

I stopped by Tokyo Express Grill for a meal after delivering food with DoorDash for a few hours. Since Japanese food is one of my favorites, I decided to give this place a try.
First impressions: the prices seemed a bit steep for a small restaurant primarily focused on takeout and delivery. They do have some tables for dine-in, but only one other family was dining in during my visit. Most of the foot traffic was for pickup or delivery orders. The prices on the menu were comparable to larger, fancier Japanese restaurants where chefs cook at your table, which felt a little out of place for a casual spot like this.
I ordered the steak hibachi meal, but the price at the register was a couple of dollars higher than what was listed on the menu board. While it wasn’t a huge difference, it would be nice if the pricing were accurate so customers don’t feel misled.
I requested my steak medium rare, but it was served closer to well done. The portion size was generous, and I had leftovers for another meal, but the steak didn’t reheat well and became even tougher.
On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and I could see the chef working hard to get all the orders out. However, for $30, I expected better quality and accuracy. Unfortunately, I feel like I could have gotten a similar or better meal at a competitor for under $20. While I appreciate the effort, I likely won’t be returning anytime soon.

They use spaghetti noodles as their noodles. Enough said. It’s like when you’re craving something and they completely disappoint bc they give you something that just does not work. You had one job.

Very good food!
One of the first things I noticed was that the prices on the menu board didn’t match what I was charged at the register. This wasn’t a small discrepancy – It was $2-5 more per item than advertised. When I asked the cashier about it, she explained that the prices hadn’t been updated on the digital board in a while and the reason they don’t print paper menus anymore. While I understand that price increases can happen, I expect transparency, and finding out when you pay is not a good business practice.

Sushi was 90% overcooked mushy rice. Fried dumplings were obviously frozen. Spring rolls were great.
Noone acknowledged me when I walked in and stood at the counter. Both the cook and cashier were watching stuff on their phones. Then she told me my food was sitting on the counter, laughed, and turned back around to her phone...
Never going back.

Food is delicious filled with flavor. Their noodles are 10/10. I’m from Cali, and been looking for a teriyaki place like this in Wilmington.

I just ordered a teriyaki chicken meal. It had the taste and texture of dog food. Don’t go here.
