We are on vacation from Kansas City and stopped into Wandering Cone after a hot day of touring the battleship! This place is incredible with all homemade and local ice cream including gluten free options. The waffles bowls, ice cream and milkshakes were all so delicious! This ice cream shop is a gem and we will definitely be returning on our next visit to Wilmington!

Really enjoy the ice cream here.
The seasonal Creamsicle and keylime pie especially were super solid.
The keylime had some of the crumble pie crust which gave it some variance in the texture along with a more uniquely tart flavor.
Adding the orange Creamsicle helped to calm the tartness of the keylime.
I came back recently and enjoyed their blueberry ice cream as well as tried I believe the peach one which was nice.
Honestly I used to go to another chain ice cream store around here that is well known but I tried their keylime pie flavor and was extremely disappointed.
Anyways love the ice cream here and will come back soon.

The BEST ice cream in Wilmington! The flavors, clean ingredients, ambiance & customer service cannot be beat. My husband surprised me & transported 6 pints on dry ice when we went away for my birthday. I genuinely cannot think of a better birthday surprise! Fair warning - after eating this ice cream, there will be a tinge of disappointment while consuming any other ice cream! My only wish is they had a second location on our side of town 😉.

The best icecream in Wilmington! I love how there are gluten free and vegan options. Something I do want to mention is that there is potential risk of cross contamination. I realized that not every icecream has its own scooper. When I came in the lady asked me if I wanted a clean scooper for my icecream which I said no but I felt like it wouldn't have mattered if I were to say yes or no because it probably was contaminated prior. So she used the same scooper that she got my boyfriends not gluten free icecream to get my gluten free icecream. I personally am not allergic to gluten so it is by preference but warning anyone that actually has an allergy or that is vegan since the business comes off as allergy friendly to me at least.
