My family and I drove an hour to come here. It was the best food and dining experience. The soup, mofongo, aguacate salad, and pernil were Delicious! The owner and staff were super friendly. We felt like we were at home. The music was great, too. You will not regret it and money well spent too! Thank you Punta Cana restaurant!

Today we went as a family to see what the atmosphere and food at the Punta Cana Restaurant was like since the owner's wife is a very good friend of ours and I can tell you that everything is very delicious. First of all, the girl who helped us, Stefany, was a sweetheart, very helpful and very attentive to whatever we needed. The water is all natural, the passion fruit and tamarind are delicious and the food is very delicious and has a unique flavor. The stewed beans could even be eaten alone because they were so delicious. But I want to tell you about the beautiful detail that they had with us, they gave us a taste of their sancocho and omg it was delicious. Next time we will go for the sancocho. Thank you for your wonderful service Lissette, Stefany and the owner thank you it was a pleasure visiting you

I was born in Dominican Republic. I married a Dominican woman. Most of my immediate family is Dominican. We prepare and cook Dominican food at all major family gatherings and holidays. We travel to the Dominican Republic as a family and as a couple every chance we get. This isn’t an attempt to brag. I just want to illustrate that I do have a lot of experience with Dominican food, people, and the actual country.I am astounded by how authentic this Dominican restaurant is, and it is located in Wilson, NC.No shade against Wilson. Nice enough town. I only say that because the only place outside of DR where you can find this level of authencity in Dominican cuisine is in major metros like NYC, Miami, and Boston, yet here I am in middle of the 23rd most populated city in NC.It’s like accidentally running into a PADI certified instructor giving some of the best scuba lessons in an oasis found while crossing the Sahara desert. Not what I expected during my trip to this part of the country.Queso frito.Longaniza.Arroz con habichuelas with every dish. Not Mexican black or refried beans. Nothing wrong with those, just not part of Dominican cuisine.Tostones.Chivo.Mofongo de todos los sabores. The list goes on.This place is so authentic that when I asked for the wifi password, none of the employees knew what it was.Well played Punta Cana Restaurant. Well played.Vegetarian options: There are a handful of vegetarian options labeled and there are also dishes that are vegetarian-friendly, but not labeled or listed in the vegetarian section. I’d say 25% of menu would be vegetarian friendly.

Food is good. Well cooked, seasoned and prepared. Quality is solid. Service is slow, staff is very friendly. Ordered a bandeja paisa. It was all good but the small thin piece of steak was disappointing. Venezuelan Empanadas were well made. Had a friend order Mangu and a Churrasco. Both were cooked to a satisfying flavor. Overall 4 stars. Waiting was a bit long, but not terribleOne negative aspect of the restaurant is I was charged a %10 waitress tax, along with my bill, which came to right over $12 for yhe service. I asked the staff what was that due to and they stated it was a service charge for the waitresses service. I was going to tip a $20 but when restaurants want to apply a service fee of their own, they’ll get less than they expected. A customer should be allowed to tip higher or lower always based on the service of the server. When waiters and waitresses are given a tip without first working for it, it lowers the standard. Everything in life has to be worked for and earned.

We were on our way to another store and the smell caught our attention. We decided to duck into the building to see what was going on. We went entered it was clean, smelled really good, and surprisingly no other customers in the restaurant. The owner/manager told us we just missed the crowd (I actually checked on IG and there was a large crowd before - but had left right before we arrived). At first, we were just going to check out the menu. However, the staff started talking to us and showing some of the different entrees they had for the evening. We decided why not? So, we were instructed to sit down and they would come over. Once we made ourselves comfortable, the staff starting bring out samples of various drinks/juices that they offered for us to try. Very sweet gesture and the Soursop was amazing! We reviewed the menu with the owner/manager and decided on our entrees. While awaiting, chips and salsa was brought out for us to enjoy. The salsa was good, the chips didn't taste homemade, and the ketchup/mayo I could go without. Overall a good little snack while you wait (the salsa and chips). It didn't take long for us to be brought our meal. Everything was hot and fresh. Now, if you are looking for steakhouse tender steak, this ain't it. You need not even come with that mindset - this is like having a meal with your family. The potato salad, the potato.salad. my my my lol that's all I have for it! Just know, you are here to enjoy the local flavors of a different culture in Wilson. They nailed taking you to their native land via the food, the service, and the music. If loud music bothers you - you might want to take that into consideration. It doesn't bother me, but I know for some it might not do well for their dining experience.

Food was okay. That which we got to eat while it was hot. The servers do not understand English. I ordered our lunch from the manager. We ordered 2 chicken mofongo's and 3 empanadas. We got the empanadas but only 1 main dish. And they said that we never ordered 2. And the table next to us. Said that we had ordered 2. They informed us that we would have to wait to cook another one. So we cancelled the order and just took what was cooked to go. Would not recommend. And will not be back.

The atmosphere is cozy, with Caribbean music that creates a festive atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive, making the experience really pleasant. I especially recommend the mofongo and sancocho, they are incredible dishes. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting to enjoy Dominican cuisine!
