After driving 5 hours, I was looking for a good steak. The hotel I was staying at in Wilson, North Carolina, told me I had to drive 30 miles for a steakhouse.
After doing a Google search, I found Pups Steakhouse, which was only 5.4 miles from where I was staying.
Upon pulling in, I did not think anything much about the entrance other than how inviting and cute it was, near Food Lion. It was a Friday night. I found a seat comfortably at the bar. Immediately I was greeted and was able to give my drink and food order to the bartender. The service was excellent, and the food came out very fast. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. The asparagus was delicious and the baked potato was spot on! The glass of Chianti I had with my meal was delicious. After I boxed up The remaining of my meal I headed to the back patio upon a servers suggestion. I was blown away. The atmosphere was just sublime after a 5 Hour Drive. It was relaxing and Kris was so inviting! She told me all about the Restaurant and the area of Wilson, NC. She made me feel right at home and never neglected any of my needs while I sat there, listening to an amazing singer. I travel between Georgia and Baltimore at least every other month. This will now be my go to stop.
Food service atmosphere they have it all! Thank you for an enjoyable experience and thank you, Kris!!

My wife and I enjoy going here for date nights. They always cook the fish and steaks perfectly and have a very nice selection of wine.

DO NOT ORDER DRAFT BEER FROM THIS LOCATION
This location hasn’t had their beer lines clean in a while and you can definitely tell. You can see little specs floating in the beer.

Went to the pub and got a prime rib and cut, but it wasn’t a prime rib and cut and it was very tough so I sent it back and waitress came back and said that this is what you ordered. This is what you got Dissatisfying will not be going back

My first time here, in town for business, well worth every dime! I’ve had a lot of steaks, both chains and local places, and I believe this might have been the best I’ve ever had! NY Strip, medium, cooked about as close to perfect as possible! Fried Brussels sprouts and cheese grits awesome. Did I mention the bread?? My two dinner partners and I loved it, fresh and hot, with that crusty top! Give them a try!

Man O Man! Y’all, this dinner was delicious!!
This was our first of many more visits to come. We just moved to the area and wanted a nice steak dinner.
I ordered the 6 oz. Fillet with lemon butter crab on top, the absolute best green beans I’ve ever had, and a baked potato. My hubby had the prime rib with green beans and a loaded baked potato. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the flavor was on point and the portion size was just right. We enjoyed a some fresh, warm bread and butter before our meals arrived with our cocktails. The drinks were pretty good too!
Our server was nice. She was attentive and punctual. This really was a superb meal! Me and my family will definitely be back for more!

This place is awful. The bartenders on the patio rushed around like crazy and there very few folks on the patio. The drinks tasted like they used beach water, the music was so loud you couldn’t speak to people at your table. We waited 17 minutes for someone to take our drink order when we sat down, which was odd since there weren’t many folks there. They finally came by to offer us drinks and their NEW bar menu. Looking at the menu and based on my last terrible experience there (I’d hoped things were better) we chose to order from the new bar menu. Y’all, I got slopped together grilled chicken sandwich for $17 — when I tell you it was cold, no sauce, too much pepper and chewy- I was pissed. 😤 I ate what I could because it was late and we’d waited an hour for the grilled chicken garbage. I wouldn’t have fed that to my dog. We also ordered the crab corn dip, while the dip was better than the sandwich- it had no flavor. Add some old bay, add tortilla chips, corn chips, salt, literally anything would have been better than the burnt ass toast we go to dip in it. I get that some people just love this place, and a long time ago I did as well… it’s absolutely not worth the price and my chicken sandwich and fries were not even as flavorful as a McDonalds chicken sandwich. Head around the corner to the Golden Arches and get in the drive through line save some money and enjoy a much better meal, maybe it will be hot! Landscaping- tall weeds and grass growing through patio and around stage Furniture - mismatched, uncomfortable and falling apart, tables dirty Meal- no flavor, drinks tasted like beach water, took forever, cold, and disappointing Staff- too many staff members standing around. It was empty inside and few on the patio, I should not have waited as long on food with that many people working Kitchen- send some workers home and pay for chefs to get some cooking classes Atmosphere- chaotic at best, loud music and chaos hopefully distract you from the poor quality of overpriced drinks and bad food. Restaurant- not clean. Stained chairs in the bathroom, broken door locks, busted furniture, all needs replacing and a white tablecloth doesn’t make you a high end restaurant or cover up the trash.

We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday and didn’t finish eating until 10pm. They had to take our drink orders twice, didn’t get our drinks until 45 minutes of being there. My friend ordered a dirty martini and it tasted like ocean water. The hour and a half we waited for our food after waiting 45 minutes for the drinks they came back to tell us that they had run out of almost all the sides. When we finally got our food my ribs were horrible and my sides were cold, the Brussels sprouts I had were mostly burnt and inedible. The sweet potatoes I had were so cold they were sticking together and had no seasoning or butter. It was my first and last time eating here.

We were from out of town, Wilson is my home town, so I was aware of some of the cultural things going on. My wife is from New York, she noticed first, there was no reception desk like most restaurants. It had the feeling of a country club atmosphere. Then the receptionist said, ," There will be a 30 minute wait. It was a Wednesday evening around 4pm. We left!

The staff was friendly. The atmosphere is nice. The tuna appetizer was phenomenal. My husband's shrimp and grits were eh. Soupy and no flavor. I had the crab cakes. Huge portion. Kind of bland, but the side veggies were ok. Overpriced for underwhelming food. Would maybe go for tuna appetizer again. Or to try the tuna entree.
