I guess if you have no taste buds or think Outback is a fine dining experience this place is for you. $106 for 2 people to eat very low quality steaks with very little taste and not tender at all. The owners should have no problem becoming millionaires with the insane profit margin this place has. Gross!

I've been hearing about this place for years and finally went. I am confused about the rave reviews. There are no menus to be found anywhere that I could find online (or at the restaurant for that matter). All they have is steak ($50/8oz, $57/12oz) which includes a nice salad bar and a baked potato. They also have an assortment of beer, wine, and liquor - that's it. I can tell you my steak was fine (nothing special but good), the salad was very good, and the potato was not fully cooked. Service was friendly but not very attentive. The atmosphere is an old block building (inside and out). I can appreciate the history but with these prices, come on...For reference, the Angus Barn in Raleigh gives you an aged 14oz steak w/ soup, salad, and potato for $60. Good old Peddlers in Raleigh gives you an aged 10 oz, salad, and potato for $26.95. The chains are considerably less and frankly their steaks are every bit as good if not better than the one I had.

1st time here. Travis took care of my order, and Chad laid a huge ribeye on the table and asked me how thick. I went with the 16oz Med Rare. The atmosphere was super and reminded me of down-home food shacks from years ago. Very clean, and the staff kept everything moving and the salad bar full. The baked tater was good and bread. I'm going back again when I'm back down here.

the food is good and the wait staff is really nice. it's very small and a bit of an uncomfortable atmosphere in my opinion because the tables are so close together. definitely a must try though. bring drinks to tailgate because you'll likely have to wait a bit to be seated

A mistake on a plate. For years I had heard how awesome Beef Master was and was excited to finally get to try it. It wasn't long before my excitement turned into a cringe worthy event. When pulling into the parking lot, I was greeted by a man peeing on the edge of the lot in full view of everyone. My boyfriend reported it and nothing was done. After a 30 minute wait we were ushered into a dark dank cinder block building. We ordered our meal and was shown the salad bowl. Yes the salad bar was literally a large bowl of ice with small bowls of salad fixings. The tongs for the salad were stored on top of the sneeze guard. We got our steaks and they were ok, but really someone with a good grill could do better at home because it was not top quality meat. We had figured the bill would be about $30-$35 a person based on the reviews we had read online. Imagine our surprise to see a bill of over $100 for 2 people to eat in rundown shack. I will not be back after that meal. Save your self some money and get 2 Angus Ribeye steaks from Harris Teeter and grill them yourself. You will be glad you did.

We arrived at 4:15 on a Saturday afternoon to find a line already waiting at the door. We took the 8th of the ten tables. My dining companion and I both came for a ribeye steak, salad, baked potato and bread, which is perfect since that comprises the entire menu, with the exception of a baked onion which you can request. Tea, coffee, or water are included. There is a modest bar and bottled soft drinks are also available for extra cost. Dinner prices start at $50 for an 8oz cut. I ordered a 10oz cut and was charged $53, so it seems like each extra ounce of steak is a $1.50 additional. Overall, I thought it was a reasonable value. My steak was cooked a perfect medium as requested and served hot off the grill. While it was not the best cut of ribeye I have eaten, it was very good, mostly tender, flavorful, and had a modest but not excessive amount of fat. Many reviewers comment that the steaks are not seasoned, but that was not the case during our visit. I watched the cook (the Beef Mastor?) season each steak with a very finely ground seasoning before it was placed on the grill. Everything on the salad bar was extremely fresh. Although there was not an extensive selection of ingredients, it was kept constantly restocked and was of good quality, except the croutons which seemed to be of the grocery-store variety. My potato was perfectly baked. The accompanying bread was buttered and toasted on the grill to order. Service was simple, polite, and very attentive. Two servers worked all ten tables and they stayed very busy during our visit. The restaurant is small and modest, but that is part of its appeal. By the time we returned to our car, the parking lot was full with tailgating going in full swing and a game of cornhole ramping up in the side lot. If you are looking for a steak house along the lines of a Ruth's Chris, Sullivan's, or Perry's, Beefmastor Inn is not it. Instead, it is a perfect example of an eastern NC restaurant that provides an excellent prix-fixe meal with simple, informal, and friendly local charm.

We drove in from about an hour away and arrived at about 5:30ish on a Thursday evening. We had a party of 9 and were seated right away. They have one thing on the menu and it's Rib Eye steak. We were greeted and our drink order was taken right away. Soon thereafter the process of ordering was explained and the gentleman came over with the Rib Eye and cut each piece to order and asked how it should be cooked. We then proceeded to the salad bar which was compact but had more of a selection than a lot of other salad bars and it was kept full and fresh. After finishing our salads the steaks followed, cooked to perfection. Service was awesome as our beverages were always kept full and we were always checked on. Definitely a great experience!
