I do have a serious complaint. However, I want to give credit to the very nice host and server. I was seated quickly even though it was a busy Saturday night and I didn’t have a reservation. The food and mocktail I had was tasty until I found milk products in what was labeled a vegan menu item.
The complaint: I ordered the black bean and sweet potato flautas, which are labeled vegan. It was delicious until I found tucked under one of my flautas what I was sure was real sour cream, instead of vegan sour cream. Before I actually freaked out, I asked my server, she confirmed it was real sour cream from cow’s milk. She apologized and said she did hit the vegan button because I’d expressed that I was looking for vegan food, the kitchen must have messed up. I asked if they normally make it with real sour cream, she said yes, to make it vegan, they leave the sour cream off. In my years of ordering vegan food at restaurants, I’ve never ordered something that was labeled vegan only to find out that it had to be modified in order to be vegan. In situations like this, the item is labeled “vegan option” or “can be modified to be vegan”, etc. This labeling matters, if I’d known that I needed to check my food for sour cream before eating, the whole issue could have been avoided and I wouldn’t have gagged in front of my fellow diners.
I felt mislead, but thought that it was possible that the person writing the menu didn’t know the difference between vegan and vegetarian. I called the following Monday in hopes that I could help them understand what a vegan customer would be looking for in a meal. I had to leave a message. That was a week and a half ago, I have not heard back. I was waiting to leave a review until they’d had the chance to speak to me, but it has become clear that they won’t be calling back.
*EDIT* I did get a few emails from management after my initial three star review. They explained that the menu item in question was a misprint and intended to be marked vegetarian instead of vegan. They say they are updating and reprinting their menu. As of this edit, they have not fixed it on their website. I imagine that means they have not fixed it on their printed menu.
Vegans and dairy free eaters, continue to beware.

We got there at 8:15pm and were told the bar was closed and they closed at 9pm. We were rushed the entire time we were there. They locked the doors at 8:30. Would never come back.

Server/host was very unwelcoming/borderline rude, though we got there nearly an hour before closing

I ate here a few weeks ago. Great food, service, and drinks. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter gave us recommendations and answered any questions we had about the items on the menu. The manager also came to our table to see how we liked the food and if we needed anything. She was really nice. The bartender was on point with the drinks. Delicious! I went for lunch and there was no wait for a table. The space was clean and we felt welcomed. We definitely left there satisfied. I shall return😊!

I didn’t know what to really expect but I must say that everything was very good! The food, drinks, customer service and atmosphere was outstanding! I will be back for sure. I really enjoyed my flight of margaritas 🥰.i like the fact that it’s downtown and convenient to Bailey park.

New menu is phenomenal. Don’t sleep on the pistolero shrimp tacos. This is one of the best taco entrees you’ll find at any Tex-Mex joint around. Service was top notch. Keep up the good work.

Our waitress was lovely and made it worth while. The buss boy was extremely rude to my husband when trying to lower our umbrella at the table. Very unnecessary comments. Next day my husband and I end up with food poisoning so we certainly won’t be back to eat here. Also the food is way overpriced for what you get. You’re better off going to an authentic Mexican restaurant where food is cooked property and priced way better!
The food took over two hours to come out - there were only five of us. Drinks were messed up - alcoholic and non. Liquor was left out of my margarita. They forgot dessert. I’m highly allergic to fish and they brought only chips, fried in the fish fryer. I told two waiters of my fish allergy. It went over their heads. For a Wednesday night, it was absolutely understaffed. I give it a 3.8/10. They even forgot my twins’ and I birthday treat. That made us very sad. Wouldn’t eat there again, even for free. I give it 15 months before it closes for good. That’d be a very good idea.

The food is pretty good, and it has a nice big selection. Obviously, not authentic Mexican, more so white people Mexican, but that hits the spot, too when all you wanna do is gossip and have chips and a margarita. Only reason I don't give it the full 5 stars is because I think it's a bit overpriced for the rest of the menu, but the vibes are great.

Great little spot to have a mexican dish or a drink. Would be nice to watch some soccer ⚽️ while we wait for the food but other than that it was worth the wait.

It's was a nice looking place in a good location on the corner. The food was not very good, but my wife had the shrimp tacos and she loves them. Also she doesn't like authenticate mexican food where I do so thay might have been the difference.

Stopped in for a business lunch at Alma Mexicana (party of 5) and unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark. While the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly, the service was slow—it took over 45 minutes from the time we ordered to when the food finally arrived. That’s a tough wait when you're on a schedule.
I tried the fajitas, but wouldn’t recommend them. The chicken was shredded, and there has very (very) little beef and it was was finely diced, which made the dish feel underwhelming overall. The guac was appreciated for the long wait.
Might be worth a visit for a casual dinner, but for a timely and satisfying lunch, I’d look elsewhere.

Ordered Delmonico steak medium rare and medium, both came out beyond well done and burnt. I would avoid the steak or go somewhere else for red meat.
Rest of the experience was fantastic! Everyone else loved their meals
