We started off with the lamb meatballs. Tender and succulent, they were bathed in a rich, aromatic sauce that perfectly balanced spice and sweetness. The black bass paturi was another standout, the delicate fish ( excluding being wrapped in banana leaves ) cooked to perfection. The mutton rezala was another standout dish.. hearty and flavorful, that showcased the restaurant's expertise in slow-cooked meats.
Beyond the exceptional food, Oh Calcutta's service was impeccable. The owner Mr Gopal had a friendly demeanor and attentive staff who was Alex made us feel right at home. If you're seeking a truly authentic Indian dining experience in Winston-Salem, Oh Calcutta is a must-visit.”

The restaurant wasn't crowded but it took over 5 minutes just to get a waitress to our table, then another 5min plus to get drinks. I ordered a side salad to have before the entrée...guess which showed up first. My wife also ordered an alternate side but that didn't come out correctly either. The only positives from last night: the cook nailed the steak, salmon was on point and beer was cold. This is definitely not the Milner's we know from years past.”

Last night, I ordered some from Doordash for us to pick-up for dinner for my S/O and I - we both got the Sesame Chicken. It was delicious, as always. The only thing I will say is that the portions I received on our to-go order didn't feel as generous as when you order in-house. I'm not sure if this was actually the case, but especially on the one we ordered with the vegetables included - the chicken felt a little skimpy. Otherwise, it was delicious and definitely worth the price. Always recommend for an easy choice of a nice dinner :)”

If you’re not in a hurry and you don’t care how your eggs are cooked or how long it is between the arrival of your eggs and hash browns until your ham shows up or your waffle makes it to the table then this is the place for you - but not at the bar counter because it hasn’t been wiped since the morning shift cleared out and the waitress isn’t happy about being asked to clean it. The food was good even though it came in shifts, the service was minimal as was the server’s personality and the prices were reasonable.”

They have a pin board for customers to pin where they're from, they use playing cards for customer orders, they prioritize inclusivity in their hiring process. All in all it's a great restaurant, the seating is comfortable, the staff is pleasant and efficient, the food is great, and it's very clean. My only negative comments would concern the volume of the music in the background. When you go in for breakfast, or any time really, you don't need the music turned up as loud as it always is. My other negative comment concerns the fact that they are out of tea bags for hot tea quite often. If tea bags don't come when ordered there is a Food Lion right across the parking lot where a box could be purchased. These are minor items overall, and they won't stop us from dining there, but it would be nice to have these issues addressed.”

My daughter and I also split a meal, and 20% of our meal was only about 5$! I could not see tipping this wonderful server 5$!?? She was beyond my expectations of a server! Our waitress was MIA most of our visit, when she was there we was nice and attentive. Poor thing was overwhelmed, it was no fault of hers, I think they were understaffed. There was another waitress though, she was ON IT! She was scooting around the place refilling everyone's drinks, even tables that weren't hers. We heard here interacting and conversing with her tables having alot of fun. She stopped a few times to check on us, honestly...we should've tipped HER too in hindsight.
The food was mediocre.
We have had great wings from other East Coast Wings but for the time we waited for our food to be served...you'd think the wings would be hot and crispy. Instead they were soggy and warm. Salad was fresh and as usual the ranch was on point! (Yall know I love a good ranch!)
They were out of several flavors and had to settle on trying something new, I like my new flavor but my hubby didn't care for his.
They used to serve bread with the wings, I'm not sure when they stopped but it's definitely missed by us!!
We will eat at East Coast Wings again because we have had many good meals with them but I do hope their not following the trend of other chain restaurants and cutting corners to make a buck. It sure seemed that way to us.
