“The burgers are phenomenal. The atmosphere is awesome, we love this place. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because they don’t have a small eater’s option. While scrumptious, the burgers are just too much for me. There is no senior menu and the cashier did finally allow me to order the kid’s meal on my first visit since I ‘wasn’t aware’. The next time I went to the table while my husband ordered me a kid’s meal and he felt bullied when they tried to make sure he was really ordering for a kid.

Both times we’ve been here there have been loads of people so I can’t imagine a few post weight loss adults ordering a kid’s meal will make a significant dent in the till.

I don’t like being sneaky so I’m not sure how many times I can continue this charade. But the burgers sure are delicious.”

“We stopped in today for lunch after church. The sandwiches, soup, and German potato salad were delicious. The staff is very friendly and extremely attentive and prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be back.”

(The drinks are unique so just be mindful) I was nervous to share the duck with my girlfriend, but Matthew convinced us to order it. I am so glad he did because it was unlike any duck I have ever had. Simply delicious. I ordered the pork belly and we cleaned both plates. 5/5”

“Website has pictures of most dishes on menu. Very helpful in deciding ahead of time. Was looking forward to a particular dish shown on website but pasta dishes not available for Sunday lunch. Didn’t see that anywhere but my backup choice was good. Green beans and mashed potatoes would have been better if hot or very warm. Overall worth a repeat.”

“This was the first time trying this place. I must say I'm very pleased. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile. And felt very welcome. They had so much to choose from. “The food here is excellent. They offer a full bar with a great selection and many specialty cocktails to choose from. Most enjoyable for my wife and I is their incredible consideration for their patrons with food allergies. The owners really want to provide you with a great experience despite any allergies you may have. Obviously letting them know in advance or dining during less busy hours helps them accommodate!

Dietary restrictions: My wife has allergies to gluten, dairy, nuts, green beans, oranges, corn, eggs and soy. With advanced notice they were able to offer several of their menu items adjusted for her to enjoy. We have eaten here 4 times and she has never been sick.”

“We dined several times back when this was Cowboy Brazilian steakhouse. The last time we visited the food just wasn't good. We heard that Lasso Gaucho bought them out and decided to give it another try. Boy am I glad we did! The food is like night and day. My 11 year old ate the most I've seen him eat I think ever and he usually isn't a huge steak fan but he ate just about everything they served. Everything tasted like perfection and my favorite is always the grilled pineapple. The fried cheese and bread were also very good and a nice add to the menu. My 17 year old daughter loved the bacon wrapped filet. If I could rate them higher, I would. We had several servers that assisted us but Nico was our main server. He was so nice, professional and really went out of his way to make sure we never had to ask for anything. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and every person that came to the table wished her a happy birthday and gave us a spectacular dessert at the end of dinner. The menu is pricey but well worth it for special occasions. We will definitely be back. Hats off to Lasso for turning around the place and serving delicious food again.”

I am a Holistic Chef and I was not disappointed, all my expections were exceeded. Truly a wonderful dinning experience. “This was our second time here and we loved it just as much as the first time. The staff are so kind & never appear hurried or flustered, despite how busy they are. It was obvious that the servers were short-staffed given the number of tables they were caring for between just the two of them in the patio area. As such, service was a little slow but our experience was still just as wonderful overall. Highly recommend. Just be patient if they're busy.”

We live outside of Winston Salem now & have young children so our in person visits are pretty limited but our whole bean subscription is wonderful. “If you're delivering sugar or anything heavy here it's probably best to come in through the front entrance and come through the employee parking to get to the dock.. you know how it is backing these autos up hill when heavy.. it's a little easier on your clutch if come through parking lot to setup your back for dock.. in and out less than 30 minutes.”

If you’re not in a hurry and you don’t care how your eggs are cooked or how long it is between the arrival of your eggs and hash browns until your ham shows up or your waffle makes it to the table then this is the place for you - but not at the bar counter because it hasn’t been wiped since the morning shift cleared out and the waitress isn’t happy about being asked to clean it. The food was good even though it came in shifts, the service was minimal as was the server’s personality and the prices were reasonable.”

“My family has enjoyed The Sherwood on many occasions and always been pleasantly surprised by the quality and service! This year we had the privilege of using their establishment for catering our Reagan High School Band of Raiders band camp and what a pleasure it was for the students! The baked pasta was delicious and enough for seconds (yes, even for teenagers), and the salad was refreshing after a day in the heat marching, topped off with a warm roll! The kids were ready to keep marching into the evening!!! we cannot recommend The Sherwood highly enough and we will definitely be calling on them again and again! Thank you for the lovely experience! “First time at this location. I saw about four young men and women working at the time I stopped by. A young man offered to help me as their wifi had gone out and he needed to use the hotspot on his phone to get my order in. I appreciated his help.

The store delivered delicious cookies in a timely manner. My only critical point is that the store could’ve been cleaner. Especially given all the staff there. The counter had crumbles all over it and the glass doors were dirty with lots of smudges.

Still, a good visit overall. I would return.”

“Chicken was so juicy and was dipped in the sauce. I wouldn't call it the best fried chicken, but damn good chicken, to say the least. I would go back. Price was expensive and the only thing and mountain fried beats the price. I would go back to try the mac and cheese and the greens next time. The backed beans were really good but had more of a tomato based taste and were lacking the sweet taste, but all and all truly enjoyed the slappys experience. The staff were very kind and caring. Honestly, I would perform so much better in a newer location because it is a hidden gem for sure. Bathrooms could use a fresh coat of paint new floors and a face lift because it doesn't go with the vibe of the restaurant. Wish there was a speaker for outside to amplify the atmosphere around it. Should have a food truck for slappys because if you did, it would get lots of customers. It does need some kind of option for fries as well.

Parking: Lots of area to park only thing is I can see there not being any parking when the bar next door is hopping.”

“My family of three came here on a Saturday around 3pm. There is parking lot out front and extra parking behind. Service was quick and we had many yummy options to choose from. I got the Winston Worm Sundae in the small size and it was great. My son got the Strawberry Shortbread sundae with vanilla ice cream which was a special this particular weekend. Overall it was nice, just a lot of syrup in my opinion. My husband got two scoops of the banana pudding ice cream and he enjoyed it. I loved all the seating options and there was a good section that was shaded. There were also a lot of toys and activities for my son so we ended up staying there for about an hour.”
