Hubby and I tried it for the first time today (Saturday, December 13). It was just before 3pm and there were only two tables seated and they already had their food. We sat down with our menus and waited for our server to take our drink order. A server never showed up. King's Crab Shack and Oyster Bar offers tasty and fresh food, with standout dishes being their oysters and crab cakes. The staff is generally friendly and accommodating, providing quick service. Many customers appreciate the steamed oysters on the half shell, which they have enjoyed for years, and the She Crab soup, which receives high praise. The shrimp is cooked just right, and the crab legs have the right amount of seasoning, making for a satisfying meal. Some visits have been quiet, with no wait times, and the service is often described as nice, polite, and patient. The crab legs are of average size, with some clusters containing delicious, juicy meat, though a few have been reported as freezer-burnt or oversoaked. The remoulade for the crab cakes is a delightful addition. Prices are average, but opinions vary on whether the food and atmosphere justify the cost. Overall, it is a good place to enjoy seafood, especially for those who love oysters and crab cakes, and many visitors plan to return to try more of the menu.
