I’ll be honest, I’ve never been to Philadelphia, some say that’s a good thing, some say I’ve never had a true Philly Cheesesteak.
But I’ve got to handle it to the chef, the Big Winston Cheese was incredible and it’s everything I imagine wanting in a Philly cheesesteak.
The bread was warm with a light crunch, but the bread still soft.
The meat was seasoned and sliced just right.
The flavors were amazing. Might be a bit spicy for this far north but coming from Texas it was heaven (disclaimer - I “added chipotle” after a recommendation which may have added some spice)
10/10 would recommend
The cosmic grilled cheese is the best thing I’ve ever had, all the flavor combinations blend so well together and the general manager Shaun was so personable and made a great impression
Awkward. Food is ordered at kiosk. Drinks are ordered at the bar. Ordered ham and cheese sandwich (tasted good) which was suppose to come w sliced green apple but rec’d without. When questioned after several bites I was told “we’re out of apples”. Staff just seemed blah. No smiles, no personality. Won’t be back.
Good food, good service. This is a small place with sandwiches, panini, chips, and other sides that basically serves as the in-house food vendor for Fiddlin' Fish Brewing. You order from a touch screen inside the brewery, and pick up your food when it's ready. Sort of like a food truck but bricks&mortar. Sandwiches are creative and well made, chips are in bags from Carolina Kettle, and there is a selection of other snacks, ice cream treats, etc. We're at The Fish once a week or so, and usually order dinner from Big Winston.
Love the atmosphere
