I love their cakes for birthdays. The salespeople are always so kind and helpful. The shop smells like cupcakes and all kinds of pastries and goodies. I wish they would bottle that scent. :)

Ive been coming here my whole life. On Saturday 12/20 I ordered over $70 worth of desserts for the holidays. My brownies were so burned theyre inedible. Very disappointed as this is a key holiday treat my family looks forward to every year. We also ordered 4 santa head cookies that are so hard you cant even bite them.

The cake I bought for my sons birthday was very disappointing. The icing was hard as a rock and the cake was old. I will never order a cake from Dewey's again. If you're thinking about ordering a cake from there please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

It's not Christmas in Winston-Salem without Moravian ginger spice cookies & sugar cake. & I've always preferred Dewey's thinner cookie. It's also my go to for presents to friends across the country. Send them anywhere from the website!

Went here and ordered a few deserts in the store: apple tart, cream horn, blondie, brownie, and a napolean. We were given two free slices of cake as well. Went home to find out that there was MOLD on one of my pasteries. This is genuinly disgusting and nothing I've ever had to deal with at a bakery before. I would NOT recommend going to this location due to this clear lack of sanitation, and since many of my other pasteries tasted just mediocre at best.
The staff was pleasant, everything was very cheap, and they're generous with offering free food alongside bought items. That being said the trade off being potentially getting another moldy pastry or food I flat out do not like is not worth it.

I used to love the sweet potato pie and sweet potato tarts, and I used to order a few large pies for the holidays however, I think they’ve changed the ingredients or have different employees making it because it taste very different and no longer taste good and the pies have many air bubbles. I used to brag about these pies to others. Large pies used to be $10 now they’re $15. I wouldn’t mind paying the up charge if it tasted the same as it used to. I just bought one and I am disgusted at how it taste.I know dewey’s is a staple in the community but it’s so unfortunate. I can no longer stand behind these pies. Also, I think the frosting on the cake squares is too sweet.
