I want to start off by saying that people have so many options when it comes to where they choose to spend their money and it's obvious that this company does not understand that. Yesterday, I went to the store on Stratford rd and they were busy which wasn't a problem for me. The girl that came over to assist me ask for my order and then pointed and said "go to the register". Since there's two registers, I simply asked her which one and she responded by saying in a snide tone," It doesn't matter which one, just go to the front", no eye contact during the transaction or nothing. After paying for my item. I asked the cashier if I could speak with the manager and was informed that there wasn't one on "duty". I called back later that same day to speak to the manager and could hear a male voice in the background saying," what do she want with the manager"?. I'm just confused at this level of disrespect towards customers.. and no manager on duty to handle customer concerns. Seems like this is going to the culture that is Deweys bakery. I'll take my money somewhere else from now on!!

I know it's a novelty shop but everything in there is so expensive, all the merchandise and the food. Worth going if you've never been, I only got some Sugar cakes and ginger cookies for Christmas presents. The line was to the door because it was Christmas Eve but the service was pretty fast considering all the people. They have a system going on . The employees are very friendly.

While a little pricey, Dewey's Bakery remains the best bakery I've ever been in. The cake is moist and the icing is so sweet and delicious. I've taken pink lemonade cupcakes to several gatherings and they've almost always been the life of the dessert table. If you visit Winston Salem, go to Dewey's. You won't be disappointed.

Dewey's has a wide variety of specialty cakes and dessert items. We always pick up the small dessert items. They are wonderful.

Such terrible customer service- we bought almost $100 of cookies from a Trail Life fundraiser and the oatmeal sandwich cookies were dry and chalky when opened. We popped into the store at Thruway to exchange them for a fresh box. Although the store was virtually empty of shoppers, the teenagers behind the counter did not know how to make an exchange. A woman brushed past them, said something I did not hear, and kept going- turns out it was the manager who denied an exchange. She never made eye contact, spoke to me, or offered any consideration. I will never shop with Deweys again. Wilkerson’s original Moravian products are much better quality… and their service!

Ordered online. Items arrived damaged. Nothing in shipping box showed precaution for said damage. Way way too much money for the product sent. Buyer

I had tried one flavor of Dewey's cookies that I liked, and based on that I decided to gift a variety of their products to family and friends. I placed nine orders of various Dewey's Bakery products over the past weekend sent as gifts to various addresses / recipients. The first one delivered had a substituted product that was not explained (I was not informed there would be a substitution). I reached out to their support email POC and was told that the original product ran out so substitutions were made. I then asked if there were substitutions on any of the other orders I placed and they were unable to tell me what they sent. They actually said, "It is hard to say at this point whether they will receive substitutions." How can a small business not know what they sent to fulfill my orders? I would rather they wait to process my orders when they have the items in stock, but I wasn't given any such option or even the consideration of a note giving me a heads up that they had stock issues. Hopefully they didn't send Merry Christmas items to my non-Christian relatives and vice versa. I will not be ordering from them again.

They fall very short on customer service. Ordered online said order ready for pickup. I arrive only to be told I need to return in 2 hours to get my order. So I have to make a 30 mile round trip to get my order 2 hours later only to find that I they have packed them on top of one another to conserve packaging. So they take nicely decorated eclairs and smash them down on top of one another. I’m sure they tasted fine but I could not serve them. And when I confronted the person in charge they say that’s how they have always packaged them and she was very short and smart about me complaining that I spend $30 on pastries that now looked like crap. She redid half my order and was very rude about it. Only one star because you can’t choose 0 starts. What shame!

Bought a rice Krispy treat and a couple of cookies today. The rice Krispy was stale, and the cookie frosting was hard as a rock. Read some reviews, and turns out, they sell expired cookies all the time. Avoid anything pre-packaged, but honestly, this place is so overrated.

This review is not about Dewey’s the company, but about this location specifically and only. Dewey’s, as a company gets 5 stars for the products and their quality. I have had to come to this location on several occasions and my experience here has never been pleasant. To me, the staff here has been rude and unhelpful. They have been inhospitable and, at best, barely sufferable. They fail to live up to the values they claim to embody. I find them to be the solitary blemish on the face of an otherwise outstanding company. As I read previous reviews, I was mildly surprised to find so many to be unfavorable within the last month.
Again my review isn’t about the company, the products, or the quality. It’s specifically about rude and inhospitable environment the staff here has chosen to maintain.
