Six weeks before the NCMEA conference, I called Downtown Deli and Café to ask about placing a large lunch order for 100 high school students who would be performing at the event. I was connected with Scott, who immediately assured me they could handle an order of that size and was incredibly accommodating with all the details that come with feeding a large group.
Over the next several weeks, Scott stayed in touch and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. When the big day arrived, he and the wonderful team at Downtown Deli were ready with our wraps, chips, and cookies—perfectly prepared and right on time.
Scott, thank you for your excellent communication and organization. You were so on top of things that I never had to make a single dreaded follow-up call. You took the order, handled every detail, greeted us with warmth and smiles, and even helped us load everything onto the truck. The wraps were delicious, and the cookies were a huge hit. You and your team are awesome—thank you again!

Very good food at very good prices. Comfortable surroundings and super friendly staff. Potato salad tasted like homemade burgers, wraps were second to none.

I will not be sending any of my staff or spending another dime at this location again. I called today (7/29) to notify the establishment that the roast beef I purchased yesterday (7/28, just before closing) appeared to be spoiled it was slimy and clearly off.

What truly shocked me wasn't the product itself, but the completely dismissive and rude response I received over the phone. The person who answered was defensive, questioned why I didn’t call yesterday (you were closed, by the way), and referenced a policy without ever explaining what that policy actually was.

Let me be clear: I wasn’t calling to ask for a refund or a replacement. I manage a business myself, and I understand how valuable customer feedback can be. I simply wanted to inform you about a possible issue with your product nothing more. Instead, I was met with attitude and a total lack of professionalism.

Customer service clearly isn’t a priority here, which is unfortunate. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Love this restaurant!! We are new to the area and so this was our first time in but it’s going to added to the rotation for sure. The food was great I got a BLT with the blueberry applesauce. The staff is super friendly and the vibe is so comfortable-felt like home

I placed a order for delivery and called to let them know I did not want any condiments on my burger and the guy who answered the phone was so rude as if he was annoyed that I called about it and tells me it’s an option on the app and it’s not he rudely interrupted me in the process of saying it’s not .

Nice deli, tucked into the corner of One W 4th. Entrance is on 1st floor to the left, but if you are a kid or a kid at heart use the revolving door. Nice sized deli, with college theme and a good flow and not to loud. Sandwiches are tasty. Made with quality meats that have a good flavor. Served with your choice of side. I opted for the house made chips which were fine. I like mine a little crisper but that could have because I showed up during lunch rush and everyone was ordering chips. Stop they were not bad by any means. A nice place to grab a good sandwich when you are downtown

I've been Eating here for over 10 years and I still say they have the best hamburgers in town (food in general). The staff is always nice and professional, when I moved to Greensboro and High Point i drove to Winston just to eat here.
