I will start by saying that the food was great. If you want some fall off the bone wings or ribs, this is a great place.

On the other side of this, the service was subpar at best. This was my first time here and I will not be back. I had asked if I could take a basket of sauces to the table because I was eating with my family. I was told yes by one employee. After that, who I am assuming was the manager came over to the table and proceeded to talk down to me about how many sauces I took. Not polite at all, very condescending. We were told to get the sauce that we wanted after receiving our food. That raised a problem since there were small cups to put the sauce in. I have no clue what sauces I was eating.

This is the first BBQ place I've been to that doesn't have the sauces at the table. Maybe change that so that you don't have to talk down to people? Or try just being polite and letting them know.

A true barbecue lover's paradise! The smoky aroma hits you as soon as you walk in, and the atmosphere is both lively and welcoming. Their smoked meats are incredible—tender and packed with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the brisket and ribs, which were cooked to perfection. The sides, like the mac and cheese and coleslaw, complement the meals wonderfully. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making sure you have a great dining experience. If you’re looking for authentic barbecue in a fun setting, Honky Tonk Smokehouse is a must-visit!

Everything there is delicious! They definitely have the BEST smoked wings in the Piedmont Triad!! Highly recommend!!

Pros: Sauces are GREAT! Especially the spicy BBQ sauce. To die for delicious! Onion rings are crunchy and good, greens were OK. People working there seem very kind, professional, and hard working.

Cons:Their mac & cheese is an inedible crime against food and tastes like an unseasoned tube sock. Their pulled pork and brisket both taste like they’ve spent a year under a heat lamp—somehow both dusty dry, and greasy cold unrendered fat at the same time.

Vegetarian options: Not a good place to look for vegetarian options

Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly in that it is very casual

The smoked wings and brisket are very good. Regular customers rave about the pulled pork. Sides were good. Brisket chili is A-mazing. Sleeper favorite. We got it to-go and ate it the next day. You order/pay at the counter and sit down. Servers are nice. There’s a LOT of sauce choices. They gave beer, cider, sodas. Even diet root beer! We met the owner. He’s on site and justifiably proud. They have burnt ends sometimes, just ask. There’s no outside tables. Lots of TVs but not loud.

Parking: It is a strip nall. Loads of free parking.

Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space to maneuver. Tables where your chair will fit. Didn’t check bathroom, sorry.

Very casual counter-order barbecue. I tried their wings and they were good ... very large and meaty. Their "thing" is offering a number of different sauces that you can experiment with to find your favorites (I liked the sweet one best). Nice hush puppies.

I'm fairly specific about what I want (Lexington Style) from bbq joints, and what I can say is this: it's the best bbq I've had in Winston Salem, with amazing sides and truly fresh tasting banana pudding. It's a simple joint, but that's sort of a thing I like. The focus is on the food and customer service and they slay it on both. Well done, and a pleasant surprise!

Ordered Ribs n Brisket the brisket was very dry n maybe a day or two days old n had no smoke flavor to them n the ribs tasted like they were baked n also no smoke flavor,Mac n cheese had no taste n my food was completely cold . Me n my family are from our of town n we were completely out disappointed.
