K&W on Peters Creek Pkwy in Winston Salem NC states they have curbside pickup and more but they do not despite their saying this on their website. The online menu doesn't correlate with the actual food offered that day. So...when you arrive you are told to walk along the food bar to make replacements. So if your purpose is to minimize your covid exposure via curbside pickup and online ordering. Don't bother at this location. I understand K&W is old school but they should update their website or remove the online choices so those of us being careful during covid will choose a restaurant that actually does what their website states. I forgot to mention I had already paid online so I was financially committed to follow thru.
They definitely don't cook good as they use to..the cashier at exit door has the most awful attitude..not friendly at all or has select friendliness!!
I have never been to a restaurant in my life that has so many friendly employees. I was blown away. The food is good of course, but the employees make sure you leave with a smile on your face. A great experience!
I have been buying coconut cream pies for my Mom's birthday for over 20 years+ from here and have never been disappointed until this past Sunday. The pie was horrible!!! I was so disappointed!! It tasted old and the crust was like cardboard.
Went around 1pm , so it was not that late at all. Food we got was barely hot. Isn't liver & onions like hand in glove? Well they charged extra for onions! The service at counter & in eating area was very good. They were very friendly and professional. But the food was useless.
I hadn't been here in years and things have changed because of Covid, but the lady who served me was efficient and kind at the same time. She sent me to the back of the line for a tray?but then guided me through the process. Delicious as I remembered. ??
Clean and plenty of food options. They also seemed to be following proper procedures and mask wearing during these covid times which I love. I didn't give 5 stars because it was kind of pricey. I got only 2 items for almost 9 bucks!
Now this is a ? in the rough. It's never super busy and every employee was courteous and smiling. It's usually a veggie plate 4 me so cannot comment on meats here. If you can't cook like grandma but miss her food... GO THERE

I was very happy w/my short visit 2 this restaurant on Peters Creek Parkway n Winston-Salem, NC a couple of days ago. We arrived about 5 mins b4 closing time & there were hardly any cars n the parking lot & no patrons inside either. I fully expected 4 the doors 2 already b locked but they werent. Then I was happily surprised when an employee headed 2 the door, held it open 4 us & greeted us with a big kind smile. We walked towards the food & saw that they were in the process of putting everything away & cleaning up & u could easily see the annoyance n their faces that our presence was causing them but they kindly greeted us & asked what we wanted them 2 box up 4 us 2 take home. I did become a little frustrated when they continuously pushed us 2 move along faster & faster + they had already put away about half of the food (which, of course, was about half of what we wanted 2 order). But, 4 the most part we got 2 order the things we like and/or prefer except 4 salad & half of the meats, which had already been put up. The 4 of us were pleased 4 the most part w/what we ordered. The fried fish was ok, the turkey & dressing was good, the country style steak was all broken up & mostly just gravy but the last meat we ordered was not wat they ended up giving us (we ordered fried chicken & got more fish). Next: sides...? The popular items such as mashed potatoes were sold out but 4 the most part we got what we wanted such as creamed corn, fried okra, greens, fries, baked beans (the only thing we ordered that not 1 of us could or would eat! Yuck!), sweet potato casserole (my favorite thing...I will probably get 2 orders of that next time!), green beans, etc. Then we got 2 the end of the line where they had a couple options available 4 bread like soft rolls or Mexican cornbread & they had a few different desserts 2 choose from as well, such as: chocolate cream pie, coconut cream pie, crumb apple pie (which was just nasty & no1 ended up eating it either), etc. if u wanted that as well. Now it was aggravating that they placed every single food item n a separate box & they didn't put any plasticware or napkins n the bags. But, when I got 2 the register 2 add up all the food & pick up our bags I asked her 2 make me a large sweet tea w/no ice & lemon, as well & she sighed loudly b4 rolling her eyes & stomping the 3 steps over 2 the cups where she filled the cup w/ice b4 sweet tea then she grabbed a handful of lemon pieces (seriously it was a ridicous number of lemon wedges...approx 8) & threw them n the cup b4 handing it 2 me. After this we told the nice & soft spoken lady what all we ordered & she typed it all up b4 printing out our bill then she helped us carry it all around the corner 2 the kind & helpful cashier that was sitting @ the exit just waiting 2 help us out 2 our car after we paid 4 it all. By the way, the price wasn't 2 bad @ all either...it was only a couple dollars more than $40 4 the 4 of us 2 each have a meal consisting of 1 meat, 3 sides, a bread & a dessert! As with most things there were positives & negatives about this visit but, this time the good clearly outweighed the bad! So, I would most definitely recommend checking this restaurant out if u have never been 2 eat here!!!
I like that they still have takeaway service. My little 10 month old nephew loved his first experience with Jello. Nothing like blue Jello for kids to be happy. My husband enjoyed his baked spaghetti with yams pudding. The baked smoother chicken was flavorful, as was the fried chicken my daughter enjoyed. Our only complaint was the beets. They just dumped them straight from the can and served them. There was no onion and no vinegar at all, which was so disappointing. Oh well everything cant be golden, like always I’ll just stay home and cook for my family if i am not satisfied.
People are much friendlier than they were before Covid. Food gets overcooked and dried out at night so go earlier for dinner. Been a staple in Winston for so long, hope they can make it through the virus.
The food is delicious ,love the space six feet apart, very clean and serve with respect lovely place ,l sure enjoyed it.
