With reservations we still waited close to an hour before chef began cooking meals. Obviously they are short staffed on chefs but suggest limiting reservations instead of making a table of 8 wait an hour for meal service.
Really odd alcohol house "rules". Were told they could not bring another drink before we finished the one we had on the table?
Overall it was way too much effort on the part of the customer to try and enjoy this experience with little concern by staff to provide consideration of their guests time.

We had the best experience at Kanpai. The waitress was on the ball and the cook was entertaining and so friendly. They definitely give you plenty of food and it was delicious too! We'll definitely be going back very soon.

Had reservations for 7:30 didn’t get seated till 7:50. Then sat at table for another hour before leaving. The waiter kept coming saying 10 more minutes about 4 or 5 times. So slow service waiter and management.

This place is so bad now. Went here for a bday celebration and ended up with my husband walking out bc the server was arrogant over a specific saki. Then the server said he wasn't serving our table bc my husband got up and left. The server was soft spoken so it was hard to hear him in a loud place. Took over 10 minutes for what I assume was the manager to finish taking our order. Another 15 minites or so before chef came out. Who btw was very dull, our table ended up watching other tables for the "show". The rest of our party had a bad experience with food. So after a long ordeal we wont be going back. Not to mention the place hasnt been updated since the 90s and I was shocked the had an A rating...I wonder who they paid off.
The service was amazing however, there was a bigger women wearing not so flattering, very thin pants. Not so great to see while eating. What happened to slacks? She was straight up wearing leggings. Forgive me but it’s not a very nice site to see while I am trying to eat. Other than that, I had an amazing time plus the food was amazing!!!
