I hope they bring back the huevos rancheros or at least the breakfast plate. It’s only biscuits now unfortunately. Seems like it would be an easy option to do since they have all the ingredients already for the breakfast plate.

Friendly staff! Great seasonal options. Fun coffee rotations. Great place to knock out some work during the mornings.

Saturday near noon. Line out the door resulted in a 40 minute wait before ordering. Despite a good seating capacity both inside and out as well as the aforementioned wait...one person working the counter.Food not bad but not worth the wait. Order ahead. The kitchen gets the orders out quickly.

The biscuits were delicious and so filling! Be sure to try the potato wedges. Great coffee too! My lavender latte was wonderful!

Love their coffee! Every time we travel through North Carolina we look forward to stopping at Krankies. We pick up a bag of coffee beans so we can enjoy from home.

Absolute gem in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem! Everything about this place is great. Coffee is great & biscuits are great. They offer vegan & gluten-free option as well.Worth noting: the biscuits are not cheap, but the quality absolutely matches what you pay. Best biscuit in-town!

This place used to be so good, but how the mighty have fallen.I don't have enough room to post how disappointed I am in what this place has become. The nature of Krankies has been completely snuffed out in favor of higher margins and bigger bottom lines.Let's start with the service: it's order-at-counter, which is fine, but there's two separate pick ups, one for coffee and one for your food. Today, after ordering, I stood near the coffee counter and watched an employee cleaning while he waited for another employee to come back so she could pump my lukewarm coffee from a carafe into my cup. It was unclear which coffee was mine of the 4 that were sitting up there and no care from behind the counter to make sure the right coffee went to the right person. While I was waiting for my coffee, my name was called to pick up my food. My fried chicken biscuit with gravy was ready before my coffee (that was already made) was poured into a cup for me. Not that my coffee took a long time, but I thought by going to a highly ranked restaurant, my food would be made fresh to order. I'm not sure Jimmy John's could assemble a sandwich this quickly. The quality reflected precooked chicken that's been sitting awhile, the flavors were good though.Service issues aside, this place made some operational changes during COVID like making everything to-go which is completely understandable but now that we're on the other side of the pandemic and my hard-to-eat biscuit ordered "for here" is still put in a disposable container and brown paper sack, it makes me wonder. Nothing comes on a plate, and they only have cheap, low quality plastic utensils available. With the image Krankies tries to portray, I would at least expect some bamboo or more thought about the environmental impact of all this garbage they're now producing. The atmosphere, though, is the biggest bone I've got to pick with Krankies ATM. What made this place what it was, was the atmosphere - the intimate relationship with local art; visual, musical and otherwise. They were connected to the pulse of the community, and now they want that part gone. They've run out all of the artists, all of the music, all of the community. They even spent the time and money to remove outlets so people wouldn't come here to work on their laptops. I would've given it 1 star for atmosphere, but it's a cool old building and they've at least stayed true to that.I used to love this place. I used to get breakfast here 3+ times a week but I would be surprised if I eat here 3 times a year now. It's an apparent money grab at this point, unfortunately. Riding the coattails of the folks that made this place awesome.Shame.

Located in the heart of Winston-Salem, Krankies is your go-to spot for a delightful breakfast experience. With a menu boasting a variety of breakfast biscuits, creative coffee concoctions, and impeccable service, this charming eatery is a must-visit for breakfast lovers. One of the highlights of dining at Krankies is the diverse selection of breakfast biscuits and fun coffee creations. From classic bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits to more adventurous options like spicy chicken (Nashville Hot), there's something to please every palate. Their coffee menu is equally impressive, featuring a variety of unique and delicious beverages. What truly sets Krankies apart is their exceptional service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and always willing to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. Whether you have specific dietary needs or preferences, they go above and beyond to ensure a satisfying dining experience. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area.

The girl at the cash register was very friendly and helpful. The Chai was good but the only real spice was cinnamon on the top. I have mixed emotions about the biscuit. The chicken was thick, juicy and had a nice crunch. The hot sauce and honey was almost nonexistent. Other reviews mention that it's so good and messy that you need a fork and lots of napkins. Sadly, that wasn't the case with mine. The biscuit top was hard so I removed it. The chocolate chip cookie was good. If I give them another try, I'll ask for extra sauce.

We had the the hangover sandwich. Eggs light and fluffy, fried chicken was just tasty and done to perfection. Visit was really nice too but I wanted the other ingredients. Bacon and gravy all put to get her for a great sandwich. We will be back when we come see our kids.

Only ordered coffee but food from friends looked good and expressed how good it tasted. Portions were also big. Good place to go with friends when looking for fast and good food
