Build your own soft serve spot near Bailey Park! The idea behind the shop is great but the quality of the soft serve is very low. VERY watery and bland. The variety of dip flavors and toppings are great but can be pricey in the end ($1 for dip, $0.50 per topping). If you're not picky, would be a great stop after a day at the park.

Concept is cute but the “soft serve” tasted weird and had a odd consistency. It’s like frozen water and has no flavor at all. Toppings are super good though. Wouldn’t go back though. Employees were super nice.

I wish I would have read the reviews before paying almost $10 for two of the smallest cones they sell. The ice cream base has no flavor whatsoever. We had it dipped in white chocolate . That didn't have any flavor either and was waxy leaving a coating in your mouth. We ended up eating the cone and throwing the rest of it in the garbage.

For a place that only offers vanilla ice cream.. the vanilla ice cream is pretty bad. The toppings and dip are awesome, but I won’t go back until the vanilla ice cream recipe is changed.

I really wanted to like this place, but I have to agree with other reviewers that the ice cream itself is just not good. I'm not sure what type of base they use for the ice cream, but the consistency is icy and melts quickly and doesn't taste creamy like you'd imagine soft serve to be. The extra stars are for the concept, service and branding. Great job on all three of those! This place has so much potential if they just swapped out their ice cream base, but unfortunately I won't return until they do that because it's really just not enjoyable no matter how many toppings you add.

After two other poor experiences here last year, we decided to give it another try and were once again terribly disappointed. The female employee handed my husband his ice cream in a cup rather than the waffle cup he ordered and said “oops, I gave you the wrong cup” with no indication of correcting her error. Also, I have never seen such poorly swirled soft serve. My one topping was barely a tablespoon worth which is a joke for the cost of this ice cream. After a few bites, we were both disgusted by the lack of flavor and eventually ended up throwing it away before even finishing it which says a lot. After looking at pictures on their Instagram, we concluded that they gave us the vegan soft serve instead of the regular vanilla. The other reviews describing it as milky, watery ice are 100% accurate. Clearly their employees are severely lacking training if they aren’t even serving people the right thing. Safe to say we won’t be returning here again.
Had a late craving night craving for ice cream last night in downtown Winston, and the Lill Dipper was open until 10 pm. You walk up to a window on the side of the building and then you receive your order at the pick up window. They have a few benches around the outside for seating. They only have a vanilla ice cream base, but they do have a few dips & toppings to choose from. The ice cream is soft serve with an icy taste & texture that I do not prefer, but Jazmine does. The cone sizes we got were $3.75, dips are $1 & toppings are $.50. Some of their toppings include M&M's, Lucky Charms Marshmallows, Graham Cracker dust & Fruity Pebbles. Luckily, they don't skimp on the toppings! We ate in the car, but that was not the best decision, chocolate falling everywhere! Definitely a treat to have outside. The total for our 2 medium sized cones was a little over $9. My main complaint is that there was one couple in front of me that ordered, and then I ordered. The couples order was made and they received their order, but I continued to wait. No one else came and made an order. I walked back and forth on the phone with my girlfriend who was driving around since it was Friday night & there was no parking. I could see the girl that took my order cleaning, and a different girl now at the register looking at me weird. A male worker was also looking at me and after almost 10 minutes he asked if I was ready to order.. to which I said I already ordered almost 10 minutes ago. Turns out they never even grabbed my ticket and started my order, which I am very confused as to why the girl that took my order did not realize.

Icy, old tasting soft serve ice cream. After soft serve has been sitting a while, you often have to waste a little to get back to the creamy consistency. My ice cream tasted like all the bad stuff that's been sitting too long. My cone leaked everywhere. The chocolate topping tasted bland and waxy. Had high hopes.... Great curb appeal.

I have tried the lil dipper on multiple accounts hoping each time it would live up to my expectations. While I love to support local businesses and the lil dipper has an adorable atmosphere and is a cute road side shop. The ice cream is not worth the high price. The main reason is you can not eat it because it melts so fast and the chocolate is so hard to break through. If you are looking for a very messy treat to get all over your hands and clothes. This is the one for you.

Ice cream had no flavor and tasted like bad ice milk; watery and icy consistency. Only flavor is vanilla with toppings extra. Poor quality and stale dipping sauces and Oreo. Threw out all three ice cream cones. Would not recommend.

Was out with friends shopping and needed something for a treat. This was on our way home so decided to give it a try. It starts with a base of vanilla soft serve which they will dip in a variety of flavors for you and then you may also choose a topping. I had the pistachio dip and it was great. Large serving and left feeling very satisfied. The only drawback about going late in the evening is the outside crowd from the bar 2 doors up the street, but it was almost like watching a comedy/drama show while enjoying our treat. ? Shop was clean and staff member was nice. Outside seating as well and easy parking.
