Always good food, good company, and a good time at Mellow Mushroom in Winston. The restaurant meets my expectations for a specialty pizzeria. I wish there was more parking, but that's part of the downtown experience. No one does pizza like Mellow 🍄.

This place is awesome! I came from CT-NY and am a pizza lover, this was the first place since moving to Winston (4years ago) that has good pizza. Was way cooler than I expected it to be from the outside. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good eats in nice urban feel in the small city.

Used to love this place, but this time when I ordered a small pizza, it was about 60% crust. It’s kinda ridiculous for the amount they are charging for this.

Their online ordering defaults to include a 10% tip which you have to change if you don't want to leave one for picking up. Probably because I chose not to tip when I had to drive there and pickup, they most definitely skimped on toppings!!!! Your pizza is WAY too expensive to be skimping on toppings! $50 for a small and large pizza, you better load those pizzas up!

Their crust is what keeps us coming back. They do not skimp on toppings.

Holy Shitake Pizza is just the best…

The food was so bad. We usually love this place! We ordered the pretzels with cheese- they were so dry and the cheese was clumpy, not smooth and had a weird taste. The waitress was very nice but unfortunately, she got our order wrong. We ordered a medium pizza half pepperoni, green peppers, and onions and half cheese. When it finally came out, it was missing the pepperoni and there was hardly any cheese, especially on the cheese side. It just had a lot of burnt bubbles. It was super disappointing. My kids wouldn’t eat it obviously, there wasn’t cheese and we were fed up and didn’t want to eat our half that was missing the pepperoni. She brought the check and said they discounted it 50%… why should we have to pay any for the pizza when the order was messed up and looked as bad as it did? So frustrating. One of our favorite places turned horrible.

The manager doesn’t know how to speak to customers. After waiting silently for at least 10 minutes without interrupting the staff, she gave the impression as if being at the bar was contingent on me buying a drink, otherwise I needed to place a to go order by myself at the counter. As an African American man I deal with this type of tone from wait staff often. I immediately left, and when I called to give constructive criticism to the manager, who I found out is the same woman once she came to the phone, she remained adverse to any construct criticism presented to her based on her behavior. Very disappointing experience.
