Great food and cold beer

I've been to this location before in the past and had mostly good but my last 2 times time and especially this last time was pretty bad. Slow service it took an hour to get 2 small pizzas that weren't crazy. This was around lunch time but for how big the space is there wasn't that many customers. Also a couple came in after my partner and I had ordered and they got served before us so I'm not sure what was happening or why our order took so long. Our server was very nice and polite but never mentioned to us why ours was taking so long. Another group left because pizzas were taking so long. Maybe it was an off day but still not the best experience I've had

My husband I moved from Asheville, NC & we dined at Mellow mushroom regularly. The atmosphere & food, always terrific there. We would sit outside & enjoy the sights and meal. I hadn't been 2 the mellow mushroom here in Winston. But decided 2I order a burger to go yesterday. Who can't make a good burger. We'll this burger was horrific which came with some kind half cooked potatoes. It was a waste of money. I will. NEVER order there again.

Love it but can't get friends to want to go downtown any longer. They don't feel safe.

From service to food everything was horrible about this place

Turned away today after waiting for a table because their payment system went down. It was not the hostess’ fault. The manager would not face the customers.

They added a miss mushroom vegan pizza for veganuary. It was so good, too many onions for me though, I would rather it come with smaller onion. Added tempeh again and it was so fire! They use follow your heart cheese! This one has the feta on it and it is sooo bomb! The staff was super friendly and helpful. I recommend them! #Veganuary Updated from previous review on 2025-01-15

**Gluten-free review**

I’ve tried the GF crusts at least 4-5 times now and every single time feels and looks like eating a previously frozen piece of cardboard. The GF crust from dominos is better. A quality pizza place like MM presents itself as should do better. It doesn’t help that they barely put any toppings on them and they just end up sad looking and kind of gross honestly. These are clearly just store bought frozen crusts, and not even good ones at that.

Usually we have good experiences here. Today was far from and really changed if we’ll be coming back.

1. Pizzas took 1.5 hours to come out. Salads took at least 45 min, and mind you we went to eat at 430 so not exactly a busy time. Didn’t appear to be shortstaffed minus maybe in the front of house but our server was nice and doing his best.

2. Our house salad came out with 1/3 of the whole large salad expired and mushy and black and wilting. The manager didn’t really seem to see the issue with that at first but eventually went back and said they replaced the expired lot of salad. The next one did at least come out looking fresh and better. It never should have gone out of the kitchen like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

3. The steak pizza came out on GF crust looking sad and like it didn’t even have steak on it? Just a sprinkling of tiny chopped up bits of steak. Was missing some other ingredients like the aioli and looked nothing like the advertised pizza on the menu.

Our server was nice and he was clearly doing everything he could. I felt bad.. but idk. Used to really like MM and it seems like it’s just going downhill now and like they don’t really care about the quality like they used to.

Fantastic artistic downtown Winston pizza experience.

We wait there almost 1 hrs. We orderd pizza and garlic cheese bread together. They give us bread first and after 30 minutes give me pizza.
