Melrose Coffee & Wine Lounge

Had a mocha here and while it started out better than a typical Starbucks mocha I ended up not being able to finish it. Something was just off with it. It’s a shame as the place has a good vibe and staff were very friendly.

I always love to stop by this local coffee shop when Im in Winston. The coffee tastes amazing and I love to try things off the signature menu. They play a relaxing music and there is always a chill vibe. The owner is friendly and its very family oriented. Support local please!

I’m not from Winston, so I picked a spot close to me at random. I’m not sure if I got bad drink or if this is the usual, but my latte was not good. Like overly syrupy and burnt tasting espresso. I ended up throwing it out 😭. It also smelled like cat litter inside??? Vibes are cute though.

Excellent drink menu and pastries to choose from and very friendly hospitality which you get to enjoy in a nice and chill ambiance

I had the chance to come here and spend some time in this beautiful space, and it was such a wonderful experience. I had the opportunity to speak with the owners, and the atmosphere was great — warm, intentional, and purposeful.

What really stood out to me was how genuine they were. It wasn’t just surface-level small talk or joking around. They asked thoughtful questions, took time to explain their products, and shared why they do what they do. You can tell they truly care about their customers and their craft.

This visit left such a positive impression that I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Beyond that, I’m excited to check out their other locations across North Carolina because of the character and integrity I saw in the owner.

Even as an experienced restaurateur, he clearly understands the importance of authentic connection, good communication, and creating joy while still delivering a great product. I’m genuinely appreciative of that — it makes all the difference.

Great coffee and super nice host! He offered to adjust the sweetness of any drink from 1 to 10. My salted caramel toffee crunch was yummy. My husband loved his macchiato as well. For those that are sensitive to caffeine later in the day he is willing to adjust the caffeine level. The pastries looked delicious, but we did not try any. Nice atmosphere with soothing music. Saw a notice at the counter encouraging folks to use the place for their next meeting.

Overall, a good spot to grab coffee and a pastry. I enjoyed the marshmallow latte and cheese Danish, both were very delicious. The staff working was very friendly and even told me about their upcoming fall menu, which I am excited about. The decor matches that of a wine lounge and not really a coffee shop or cafe. Which wouldn't bother me if they still served wine, but they don't. I ended up eating on the road because of how the furniture was laid out. I hope they either go back to serving wine or update the furniture so that it gives more of a coffee shop/cafe atmosphere.

I had the Ferrero Rocher Latte and it was delicious! The coffee house has a really cool, moody vibe. There was only barista, but she was very speedy and even brought my drink out to me

I think the people who work here are really nice. The atmosphere definitely wasn't for me but others my find it enjoyable, sorta has a night vibe. As for the coffee eeeh very sweet. The Mocha Frappe I had wasn't good as they use Hershey syrup as the chocolate which just over takes everything, felt like I was drinking straight from the syrup bottle. If they switched the chocolate out to something higher quality it would probably taste better but I couldn't taste the coffee at all just Hershey.
