I really enjoy italian cooking, pizza and unique fine dining experiences. MPN has all of this and more. I highly recommend doing the pizzakase seating. Every course we were served outdid the previous one. We watched the chef, and owner, create food that was exceeded my expectations. Just wow.
Do yourself a favor and visit MPN in Winston Salem. Oh and by the way...they're ranked at number 18 among all pizza restaurants in the United States. Boom!

I had an outstanding experience at Mission Pizza during the gourmet pizzakase meal on November 15. The food was exceptional from start to finish. Peyton, the owner and chef, really impressed with the range of dishes he prepared — everything from a Northeastern-inspired oyster pizza to a fried-dough style pie. Each course showed real craftsmanship, and watching his attention to detail throughout the night added to the experience.
The presentations were thoughtful, the pacing was on point, and the wine pairings could not have been better. Peyton also shared some stories about his travels and influences, which gave great context to the flavors and choices behind the dishes.
This experience is all about trying new things and stepping outside the ordinary. Letting the chef take the lead and seeing where it goes made the night genuinely fun. Overall, a great time — highly recommended if you’re looking for something unique and expertly executed.

Food is great, fresh, delicious. Vibe is super cool. Disappointed at the price of the pre fixe menu, honestly thought it was $60 for one set of courses (which we planned to split) not $60 per person. The prices of the food dishes individually (and then split between two people) did not add up to the pre fixe price we paid for 2 people at all. Recommend this place but do not get the pre fixe, just order off the menu and you’ll either save money or get more food for your bills.

Best pizza I've had in the Southeast and it's not even close. Salads are wonderful too, and so are the small plates. Curated wine selection that fits the cuisine perfectly. We have driven from Raleigh just to go here multiple times. Almost glad it isn't closer or we'd be there twice a week.
Nope, it's not your hole in the wall joint where you pick all the toppings. Who cares. Trust the chef. Let someone who KNOWS make you something you never knew you always wanted, and enjoy one of the best things you can put in your mouth.

We were curious to try the “Pizzakase” concept, but the experience didn’t feel as welcoming as we’d hoped. The chef wasn’t engaging. While the food was fine, the atmosphere lacked warmth, which made it hard to enjoy fully.

Had high hopes for this pizza. Crust had no crunch to it at all.
Cheese and tomato sauce was good.
Confused as they've been ranked, top 100 pizzas and there's a reservation list.
Take my feedback as subjective since I'm a Italian who is originally from Brooklyn New York and have NY quaility expactions which are really met when eating pizza in the south.
Around $25 for an individual pie is not inexpensive but a reasonable price point to try something.

My husband and I are new to Winston Salem (just moved from Southern California 4 mos ago), so we have been on the lookout for great places to eat, and MPN didn’t disappoint. We went last Saturday night and sat at the counter for the Pizzakase experience. We were wowed by 8 courses served over 2 hours. Everything was exceptional, including the detailed description of what we were eating and how it was prepared. This was not just pizza. It started with a beautiful tomato salad, followed by several kinds of pizza, and also pasta, risotto balls, a “pizza sandwich”, and a delightful peach/cherry/ricotta concoction for dessert. I give this place an ENTHUSIASTIC two thumbs up!! And, come hungry!!
First of all, the service and ambience was phenomenal. Our server explained each course of the prix fixe in depth & answered any questions we had. The first appetizer (we ordered one prior to choosing the prix fixe route) was amazing, and the first 2 courses were very good. The peaches , tomatoes and mussels were so fresh.
The pizza was too doughy imo and didn’t have enough sauce where I felt the dough over powered the course, which I was a little bummed because it did sound like a great pizza. The dessert was just mid.
Would definitely like to try other pizzas on the menu and more of the seafood options.

We went in around 5:30 with my fiancé and got the prix fixe our service was phenomenal and our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable on all of our courses. All of our courses were great aside from, funny enough, the pizza was just not great. I expected more as we enjoyed the rest of the courses. If I were to go back I would select a pasta dish along with another pizza to see if it was maybe the chefs choice of that day.
I’m saddened by the owners reply to my deceased son’s girlfriend who recently gave a review of this establishment!
She not only told the absolute truth but she also gave credit where it was due as in the Hostess who in all truthfulness was/is a glorified bus person! She gets the least amount of $ and does twice the work! I know I was one at Ted’s Montana Grill!
But I’m flabbergasted and mind blown still at this owner, Peyton! Can you say Petty? Every word my sweet girl said who came down from Pittsburgh PA to visit us and my Mother chose this Pizza place as it used to be a part of the Mission across the street and therefore it was a connection to my son her grandson and his girlfriend and daughter!
Their website is ridiculous! Even I at 57 and once married to a software engineer found it to be not only difficult to understand but the rules! The regulations were more than I have seen in a rental agreement!
Peyton was rude called my stepfather rude for “not understanding his own reservation!” He proceeded to make all of us at the table of 5 very uncomfortable! Most importantly the 9 year old with us!
Again as my sweetheart of a Yankee said the Hostess was amazing and the food ehh I have certainly had better and wasn’t made to feel “ignorant” and I could go on but as she put it so eloquently “so much for our southern hospitality!” Thanks “Peyton” really gave Winston-Salem a bad taste in 5 people’s mouth and you sir still got your payment!
Btw folks if you call to make a reservation as is required for parties over 4 be ready for a hefty deposit on your credit/debit card!

I’ll start by saying the food itself was great! The restaurant is beautiful, small and personal. We are visiting from out of state and this was our first night out in the area. We made a reservation online, this is where we ran into our first issue. The website was hard to navigate for my friend’s grandfather and after putting down +$200 for our reservation we got there and realized we had reserved a tasting menu. We asked if we could switch the reservation to ordering off of the menu instead and the hostess said absolutely and immediately accommodated the request. She did not say anything about food being already prepared or that it would be an inconvenience in any way. If we had known, we would have stuck with what we paid for. Payton, the owner, came up to us and yelled at us. He called us rude for not understanding what we reserved and proceeded to berate my friend’s grandfather. We considered leaving despite having already ordered, but as a veteran he said he had never walked out on anything and he didn’t plan to start tonight. We will never be back and I was very disappointed with my first experience in Winston-Salem. Not the “southern hospitality” we expected.
Great place to dine. Food is excellent and has a soft ambiance that is inviting for a good date night or tasty bites in general.
Best restaurant in Winston Salem, and one of the best pizza places on the east coast. We always enjoy the Pizzakase experience, well worth the money. Incredible food every time.
