Great food, great service!
Okay, prepare your taste buds for a journey, because Nawab Indian Cuisine in Winston-Salem just delivered an experience that transcended mere dining. It was a symphony of flavors, a culinary revelation, and I'm still vibrating from the afterglow.
Let's start with the Aloo Tikki Chat. This wasn't just an appetizer; it was a vibrant, playful explosion. The potato patties themselves were perfectly crispy on the outside, yielding to a tender, subtly spiced interior. But what truly elevated this dish was the masterful interplay of textures and temperatures. Cool, creamy yogurt danced with tangy tamarind chutney and bright green cilantro chutney, while a scatter of crisp, savory chickpea noodles (sev) added a delightful crunch. Each bite was a delightful kaleidoscope – sweet, sour, savory, spicy – all coalescing into a harmonious, utterly addictive start to the meal. It was a lively, energetic dish that practically sang with flavor, a testament to Nawab's commitment to authentic street food done right.
And then, the main event: the Eggplant Bharta (Vegan). Oh, this bharta. This glorious, smoky, soulful bharta. Forget any preconceived notions you have about eggplant; this dish elevates it to an art form. The eggplant is clearly roasted or grilled to perfection, imparting a deep, mesmerizing smokiness that permeates every single luscious bite. It's then masterfully mashed and folded into a rich, aromatic gravy brimming with perfectly balanced spices. You taste the warmth of ginger, the subtle heat of chilies, and a symphony of other fragrant elements that create a deeply satisfying, incredibly complex flavor profile. It's creamy without being heavy, robust without being overwhelming, and utterly comforting. Each spoonful was a revelation, a testament to the power of simple, fresh ingredients transformed by skilled hands into something truly extraordinary.
It felt like a warm embrace, a dish that nourishes not just the body, but the soul.
Nawab Indian Cuisine isn't just serving food; they're crafting experiences. From the bustling energy of the Aloo Tikki Chat to the profound depth of the Eggplant Bharta, every dish is a testament to their dedication to authentic flavors and meticulous preparation. The ambiance is inviting, the service attentive, but ultimately, it's the food that speaks volumes. If you're in Winston-Salem and seeking an unforgettable Indian culinary adventure, make Nawab your next destination. Just be prepared to have your expectations shattered and your taste buds utterly delighted.
Stopped by today for lunch. Gobi Manchurian was great as a starter. Had courses of tandoori chicken trio and crab masala. All dishes were great tasting. Even had enough for a lite supper. Staff was friendly and helpful with menu. Will stop by again.
Great portions, friendly staff, generous on the rice.
Food and service were top tier!!
This is always been my favorite Indian restaurant in town. Amazing food, great customer service, and I love the atmosphere. I hate that the buffet is gone but I see that they have some good lunch menu options now and I want to go check that out too.
I had the vegetable samosas, gobi manchurian, roti, and vegetable coconut curry- they all were delicious! Can’t wait to come back! They indicate vegan options on the dinner menu. Just a heads up- there are multiple entree options labeled vegan on the lunch menu, but the waiter told me only three are actually vegan: the curry, coconut curry, and tadka. Very good! The menu is clearly labeled with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free. The staff were very friendly, and the all the food was delicious.
Walked in at 1:50 for lunch and we were told they were no longer accepting dine in because they close at 2:30. Absolutely absurd!! We come here often and spend money and this experience made us not want to come back!!

Me and friend decided to eat here after seeing all the great reviews. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. Staff was readily to assist with taking our order, and offering refreshments . I ordered the curried shrimp medium, after I was told by the waitress that medium level is not too spicy at all. I trusted her word and went with it. Along receiving my curried shrimp, that flavor was amazing ! Although I could not even enjoy my dinner because it was extremely HOT. I begged the waitress to exchange my plate for something milder. She refused to exchange my plate and I was told if I wanted to get something else, that I would be charged for BOTH plates. I ended up paying for both plates although I only ate one. I am not very happy about paying for both when I took a suggestion from the waitress and was not satisfied . At any other restaurant if the customer is not satisfied you are usually almost always able to exchange your plate if you are not satisfied. .
The strawberry lassi was great , fresh tasting and super refreshing .10/10.
The vegetable samosas were amazing I loved them! A little kick of spice with amazing flavor ! 10/10
Curried shrimp had an amazing flavor, came hot and freshly served. Although the spice level was hard for me to bare. I couldn’t not enjoy this dish due to the spice level. 6/10
Atmosphere and vibes were welcoming. 10/10

Not for Desis! We ordered veggie appetizers, Gobi Manchurian and Allu tikki were not cooked inside. Manchurian was ketchup with cauliflower.
