I had researched unique places to eat in Winston, this blew me out of the water! it was everything I hoped for and then some ! The staff was kind and genuinely friendly and attentive. Our waitress was a lovely young lady named Maya- she was an absolute delight. She checked in regularly while multitasking around the restaurant. She had an air of kindness and fun and made me feel so at home . The hostess greeted us with a genuine smile and kindness . She was helpful and was able to get us a table ( we got there in time before it got BUSY) . The food was a religious experience. I had read the reviews but they don't do it justice, yall. Take the time to go out of your way for this place because it's worth every penny . Everything was fresh, plated beautifully, unique, and it was comforting beyond belief . I am genuinely looking forward to returning for many years to come .
This is one of, if not my favorite restaurant. Winston-Salem. Great atmosphere, very consistent food. Good service.

Walked in on a Tuesday at 7:45p. Server was very friendly. Food took forever - waited 30 minutes for bread and salad. Bread service was okay, not terrible. Steak frites….steak was uneven - overcooked in places and to temp in some places. It was not cut (IME steak frites is served with sliced steak). Overall, the only positive of this experience was our server. Likely won’t be back.

Overall, the food here is very good. But I’m still very confused. I made a reservation online for Sage and Salt Bistro through Open Table. However, when I showed up, the hostess then proceeds to take me outside to walk down a long walkway, to another adjoining restaurant, saying this is where my reservation was actually for. Apparently it’s a second restaurant they are working with. Both restaurants apparently offer both menus and share the same kitchen space? Or something like that? I’m not really sure. But when I sat down my wife and I were given menus for both restaurants. She ordered from one menu and I ordered from another. And unfortunately, for however this place is setup, there are two kitchens that are serving both menu restaurants, and not coordinating with each other. My food came out at least 15 minutes before hers did as a result. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. The very confusing experience has left me baffled about what restaurant I actually ate at, why they have two different menus, and why serving the food at the same time was so difficult for them. Especially considering we dropped over $100 for this restaurant. And while the food was definitely excellent, there is something weird and confusing happening. I still don’t know what to make of it, other than I am unlikely to ever come back. Hopefully management will work out whatever is happening. If they are going to run two different restaurants, please actually do so. I still don’t know what restaurant I ate it.

By far the nicest restaurant I’ve ever been to and everything tasted amazing!
Troy served us and explained the menu. He was incredible. I felt a little out of place when I couldn’t understand several fancy words, but he was very kind & helpful.
So happy with the entire experience.

Food is amazing, staff are incredible. Can get a bit noisy as it is a small place, but I would highly recommend.

Pros: Server (Nickalaus) was very nice. Bread service was excellent. Ambiance is pretty cool. Cons: Filet Mignon was poor quality, and served basically raw, and drowning in a demiglaze that appears to be meant to disguise the low quality steak. Wife ate around the edges, I tasted one bite and did not finish. 2x sodas Bread service Mac and cheese 2x Filet Mignon (ordered medium) Total check: $131.62 (before tip)
Everything here is so delicious! My husband and I love the starters but then we’re too full for our entrees! My favorite is the salmon, the sauce it comes with is amazing and so flavorful

Absolutely awesome!
First of all,Camille our server was great. She knew the menu, ingredients and cocktails. She was personable and professional.
The food: perfect! I had the crabcake special (wonderful) and my husband had the halibut (the best). We will come back again. Congratulations to Sage and Salt a perfect evening out for our anniversary!!!

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere!!! We are hoping this fairly new restaurant gets a steady clientele so it succeeds!!! We live in Atlanta and want to come back here again.

The special was OVERPRICED and unremarkable. $60 for three chunks of monkfish with artichokes that had the texture of canned artichokes, haricot verts, some weird looking, tasteless mushrooms and a bland cream sauce over overpriced grits. The $12 sour cream pound cake dessert consisted of a slab of day old pound cake that Sara Lee could have run circles around and a predictable spoonful of macerated triple berries and whipped cream. The burrata was pretty tasty, but again, completely overpriced. Overall, pass.

First visit was impressive. Our server "Yvonne" was very cordial and attentive, without being intrusive. We ordered the Legal Drinking Sage & Moodust cocktails, Crab and Artichoke Dip appetizer, and we split the Rack of Lamb entree. All were delicious. However, it really came to a screeching halt right there. We decided on the pound cake dessert to take home. The pound cake was so dry and dense it was inedible, the sauce & berries were ok but did not help the cake at all. It was so bad we dumped it. I recently moved to the area from NJ and have had a tough time finding good food here. This place is worth another visit, just not for dessert.
