Disappointing Experience – Won’t Be Returning
Dined at Six Hundred° last night with a party of four, and unfortunately, the experience fell well below expectations.
Parking was a hassle from the start, setting a stressful tone before we even walked in. Once seated, things didn’t improve. Our server was unwilling to accommodate even simple menu adjustments, telling us, “The chef doesn’t like to change the menu.” For an upscale restaurant, this kind of rigidity and lack of customer focus is unacceptable. I’ve dined at high-end restaurants around the world and have never encountered that kind of refusal over reasonable requests.
To make matters worse, the restaurant wasn’t busy, yet we still waited nearly an hour for our entrées—with no explanation or urgency from the staff.
In the end, the unprofessional and inflexible service completely overshadowed the meal. We left disappointed and won’t be returning. I wouldn’t recommend Six Hundred° to anyone looking for a refined or customer-friendly dining experience.
Sure! Here's a polished and balanced revision: The food was ok, though not particularly memorable, especially given the price. Our waiter provided excellent service, but the food took quite a while to arrive. We did appreciate the complimentary dessert as a gesture for the delay.
Let me start out by saying the food was excellent. Our server Brady took time to answer any questions and made some excellent suggestions. Since it was a Friday night it was probably a little noisier than usual. Unfortunately the kitchen was understaffed creating long waits for the food. Our reservation was for 6:30 and the wait for food was about an hour and fifteen minutes. Brady came back to reassure us that while the kitchen was slammed our food was on its way. Upon leaving we passed by the kitchen and saw only three people working and understood the delay. In spite of the delay we are certainly returning another time and recommended it to family members when they visit. A great downtown restaurant. Very deserving of the Journal (our local newspaper) "Best of Winston Salem" AWARD.
We just went for the first time last night. The food was fabulous. The wait staff was great. The problem lies in the two young ladies checking you in. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation. We were going to be sitting at the bar in front of the kitchen. There was only one couple sitting there eating and we said we’ll go ahead and be seated. The young lady at the desk, who maybe was 20 wearing jeans and a ratty T-shirt, which seems weird, told us we were not allowed to be seated because it was a very busy evening and we would need to go to the bar and then they would come get us.
There was no one sitting at the bar except for one couple. There’s no reason why we should not have been seated. But when it was time for our reservation, they came to get us and there’s all these open seats along the kitchen view bar area. But they put us in a place that’s right behind a column so we couldn’t see into the kitchen very well at all. Terrible front of house service.
I think management needs to solve some of those issues. When your first impression are these two people, they need to be better.
The food was great and the wait staff was great. The two young girls at the front— not so great. Our reservation was for the kitchen bar. And when we showed up about 15 minutes early, we noticed there was only one couple sitting there so we asked if we could be seated. And they told us no because they were fully booked tonight and I said, but there's no one sitting where we're about to sit in 15 minutes and she did not care. Seems like maybe a ploy to get you to go buy a drink at the bar Once she did seat us and still all of the available places were open —she put us behind a huge column where we couldn't see the kitchen very well at all... Front of house is so important to a first impression and my first impression wasn't good. One of the girls look like she was 19 years old and she had on jeans and a T-shirt. We paid over $200 for a meal. ...
First time dining here. Price point and menu looked appropriate for our anniversary dinner. Great location across from Bailey Park. Parking can be a challenge, but even if you park a few blocks away the walk is under 5 mins. Hands down one of the best meals we've had in Winston-Salem. Service was incredible too. Classy, yet alternative vibe. We definitely plan to eat here again. I would highly recommend it.

Great location! Overall service & food were outstanding! Great variety & unique offerings. Highly recommend.
We've enjoyed 600 Degrees a few different times and it NEVER disappoints. The menu is always interesting and the food is consistently spectacular. Honestly, every bite rivals some of the best restaurants we've visited in large cities across the country—and even internationally! Just the smallest touches make all the difference. For example, when I ordered prosecco, my waiter asked a few questions and then suggested an alternative Brut that would complement the meal better. 10/10 perfection! Our table shared some small plates to enjoy a variety of combinations and then shared our large plates and also a dessert to thoroughly enjoy the wide range of flavors available. No matter what we've had or when we've visited 600 Degrees, it always hits!
Perfect all the way around!! Why can't we just say what we want to hear without having a minimum number of characters?

This is by far the best restaurant in Winston Salem. Food is amazing and the staff is outstanding.
Every time we visit, the ambiance is top notch and the food is so good! We enjoy our meal and the staff is always so attentive and friendly. If you haven't visited, you definitely should! You won't be disappointed!
We had a wonderful dinner outside overlooking Bailey Park. The food was delicious, and service was excellent. Thank you, Molly, for the suggestions!
Loved the outside and wife loved the aesthetic of the restaurant. Brady was our waitress and she needs a raise. Got us talking and made the night more enjoyable. Food and drinks were mixed and made amazingly.
