The best sandwich shop in North Carolina! I have lived in Winston-Salem for several months, and I was apprehensive to try The Carving Board because of unappealing pictures in the reviews. Many of the pictures are not representative of the quality you get. Additionally, the macaroni salad is the best I’ve ever had.

Carving Board has always been a staple and had great food and options. Today about 8 young people stared at me and after 5 minutes of awkward silence, someone worked up the courage to take my order. Other than that, it’s usually a great place.

A staple in Winston Salem, you can’t go wrong here. By far the best chicken salad in NC!!! My go to is the pick 3: chicken salad, spinach salad, cucumber & onions. Idk what they put on the cucumbers and onions but it’s amazing! You can also get a freshly carved feline sandwich, or so many other things. Everything is made fresh and service is always friendly and helpful.
Saturday lunch time is busy but not a long wait. Lunch time during the week a lil busier.
