A perfect neighborhood wine shop that also features curated food items like hot sauces as well as cookware. The staff is super friendly and eager to help, whether you're looking to try something new or purchase a familiar favorite. They offer free wine tastings on Friday nights which is a great time to branch out and try something new. One of my favorite things about the shop is that they carry small, boutique wineries from parts of the country that would be hard to access otherwise. I'm thankful to have a wine shop like this in Winston!

My husband and I went to Wine Merchants yesterday. We have been to the restaurant several times and have bought at least a dozen or half a dozen of wine 4 or 5 times when we have stopped by the store. We like the place and everybody has been very friendly each time. Today there was a very nice and friendly attendant. I asked if I could use the restroom and he looked at his boss for authorization. His boss said that he didn’t have the restaurant open and his restroom was not open for the same reason. I totally understand we are going through times when we have to disinfect and take extra precautions everywhere but if your store is open, it’s just the restroom and I’m a client. Anyway, we didn’t leave right away because the guy attending us was very nice and I didn’t want to make a big deal of it. I think a client is a client but that’s just me. We still purchased 6 bottles of wine instead of the 12 we thought we would. From now on we will go to the Caviste or to Total Wine instead.

Surprised hubby with a poke bowl since our go-to place was closed due to this madness. Messaged them via messenger to get 2 packets of poke tuna reserved. Pleasantly surprised with the freshness and quantity of the fish when arrived at the store and decided to get some sushi grade salmon as well!

I came here for a Triad Foodie event. We had a four-course tasting menu and wine. The owner is very generous made the event a lot of fun. They did a nice job explaining each dish. My favorite was the dirty south oysters. I would order them again. I also liked the wine the owner recommended and it was on special. The service was on point. The chef was awesome and was telling us about the new location and butcher shop.
