It was amazing. The best part was speaking to the owner and listen to her share the store’s history. I chose the candied ginger cookies. The cookies were great paired with my favorite chi tea🌸

I was born into a Moravian family. One of the Moravian traditions is eating. Some of the items are pastries and cookies. I picked up several sugar cakes. My grandmother made the best sugar cakes but these run a real close 2nd. Next time I will try some other items. Go there, I believe they give free samples on some items. ENJOY

Best sugar cake ever! Far better than their main competitor, but I won't say who that is. Very friendly folks too. Next time you're wanting sugar cake, this is the only place you need to visit. They also have some other very excellent items as well. And no, I do not work for them. If I did, I'd eat up all the profits.

Everything (cookies, pies, sugarcake, etc) that I’ve gotten at the Wilkerson Bakery has been fresh, tasty and homemade. I picked up some sugarcake and a pack of hot cross buns today. Oh my, I’ve never really “loved” the taste of hot cross buns until today. This is now a top favorite from any bakery in the area.

We met the great granddaughter of the original baker that began 100 years ago. What a sweet young woman! They still use the same recipes. OUTSTANDING traditional Moravian baked goods. We had their famous sugar cake. Worth the trip to North Carolina! Best cinnamon, sugar butter type cake I’ve ever had. I will definitely be having goods shipped to Texas!

Didn’t acknowledge my husband and I when we walked in. Only people in there. Thought it was a legitimate bakery. Turns out it’s just cookies and Moravian stars. Oh well.

I’ve been eating Moravian spice cookies since I was in diapers and these are hands down the best. Truffles are fantastic as well! Worth the drive from Charlotte to Winston!
