Absolutely loved this chicken and BBQ place. While there are many locations in central and eastern NC, this is a North Carolina original. Though it is technically a fast food restaurant, care is taken that customers receive quality customer service. Food is very fresh and flavorful. Expect authentic “down east” vinegar-based BBQ sauce with a distinctive kick. I had the dark meat “snack,” which comes with leg, thigh & one side. I went with the baked beans, and was very satisfied. These are NOT vegetarian beans, as they are laced with pork BBQ, and quite to my taste. The chicken was very tender & juicy as well. Plenty of free parking. We chose to eat outside on a picnic table, to accommodate our dog. Staff insisted on carrying our food outside, across the parking lot to the picnic table. My only suggestion for improvement would be an umbrella over the picnic tables. Two Tesla charging stations on site.

I was surprised, tried it on a whim passing through the area, was expecting much. I had the tender snack which consisted of 3 good size tenders and fries. Tenders were hand breaded cut chicken breast strips, juicy, crispy, and were good. Fries were hot and good. It was all made to order, was hot, fresh, and had good seasonings and flavors. Inside was clean, restroom was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Decent outdoor picnic tables, nice area. Also has Tesla charging station. Family members had 2 piece dark snack meal: very juicy with great flavor. Another had the bbq sandwich and they said it was good, “but will get the 2 piece dark next time.”

Food was amazing on Sunday I stopped in. Juicy and hot fried chicken with potato salad, fries, and fresh hushpuppies along with a drumstick kids meals with hot fries and tea for my ride back to Chapel Hill.

Kids meal tender with potato salad. Love the hush puppies!
I ordered two thighs and found that the thighs were not truly thighs but rather mostly back and about one inch of thighs. I would have gotten more meat by ordering two wings. I was very disappointed.. won't be doing that again.

The food is good.The service most of the time is good.But the pricing is a little ridiculous. And yes I know inflation.....everywhere has gone up as well but not like this.
I can't remember the cashier's name, but she was EXCELLENT!! She has good customer service skills!!! Me and my family's food was fresh and hot. We'll definitely visit here again soon.

Ordered the shrimp platter and was disappointed that the majority of the shrimp was not de-veined. Only ended up eating the coleslaw and hush puppies. Someone can get really sick from clotridoides difficile colitis (c-diff), if they haven't already. Overall the staff is great and the atmosphere is pleasant to dine in.

Very nice place to eat. I stopped by and dined in. People are actually on the dining room and it doesn't look "dead". Decor is also nice. The gentleman taking orders is pleasant and friendly and the guy running food is nice and even offered sauce. Very good service. I wish it wasn't so far from me.
