Found this restaurant on yelp for a evening dinner option while visiting Bismarck. Located downtown parking was a little difficult. The restaurant vibe was good with an old fashioned feel. My waiter was very friendly and attentive. The meal was just ok. The meat was very dry, almost like it was old or way overcooked. Checked on the dessert options to find nothing was made in house. Always a good measure of a quality restaurant. It was just ok.

Peacock Alley is one of those places that you forget how much you love! My husband and I went for a late Valentine's Day date and could not have been more impressed. We sat at the bar to enjoy a couple of drinks and the Brisket Candy appetizer (incredible, btw) until the rest of our party arrived. Our drinks were well made, the bartenders were attentive, and their drink menu has a great variety. I especially enjoyed their mocktail menu! For my entree, I had a beautifully prepared Filet Mignon with Jasmine Rice! We found the price point to be extremely reasonable for the top quality food and service we received. Their GM was helping his staff throughout the night, but he made time to personally visit a few tables, which is always a nice touch! We'll be back sooner rather than later!

The menu and ratings looked promising, but the experience turned out to be a letdown. Located downtown, we spent a solid amount of time hunting for parking, but once we got inside, it was a charming little spot. We grabbed a table in the back corner with a view of the street, hoping it would make up for the parking hassle. We started with the Volcanic Peach Lemonade, and I'll give credit where it's due—it was a solid drink. The right balance of lemonade and peach, it was a refreshing start. Now, the appetizer. We kicked things off with the Brisket Candy. Smoked brisket tossed in North Dakota BBQ sauce should have been a winner, but instead, it was dry, almost inedibly so. The outside was crispy—too crispy, like it had been left on the grill far too long. It was dry to the point that it felt like chewing on sawdust. Then came my French Dip Sandwich—big mistake. I thought the warm au jus would be the perfect comfort food for a chilly evening, but the sandwich came with an overpowering herb flavor (maybe sage?). Every bite made my stomach turn. My husband tried it too and thought the herb made the meat taste spoiled. It desperately needed seasoning, especially salt, and was just bland and uninspired. I barely ate half and didn't even want to take the leftovers home. The only real win of the meal was the Buffalo Fries. They were hot, crispy, and bursting with flavor, and paired with ranch, they were perfect. If I had known how good they were going to be, I might have just ordered those as my entire meal. My husband's Chipotle Philly Cheesesteak was okay. He didn't love it, but it was definitely better than my sandwich. It had some flavor, but nothing to write home about. Overall, the food was overpriced for what it was, and honestly, we left feeling underwhelmed. The waitress was polite, but it was a bit unprofessional to overhear her and another staff member chatting politics with a patron for most of our meal.

First night the bartender was hit or miss. The 2nd night, the bartender redeemed the bartender and service from the previous night. Can’t wait to come back!

Service is mediocre. Staff is intellectually challenged therefore if you look at them they will ask you to leave even yelling at you when you’re already walking out the door. Management is clueless. Atmosphere is the same nostalgia as it’s been for decades which is nice. Just go in and use the bathroom, look around, and leave.

When we first walked in we were not greeted so we were a little taken back by that. But then realized it was self seating. But we were meeting a large group so had to ask around where our party was. The staff behind the bar pointed towards the back room. We go to the back and still didn’t see anyone but the young lady working there was aware of the party. Instead of kindly walking us over to the area she points and say up there. We still were a bit confused. Not very hospitable.

The waitress was pretty unfriendly. Didn’t really speak much. I kind of felt like we were inconveniencing her.

I’m not sure I would recommend this place. The food was very good but part of dining out is feeling comfortable. It’s more than just the food alone. Need to train the staff on hospitalities and customer service.

Pretty decent food especially for something a bit different than many of the other restaurants. The atmosphere is pretty good. We liked the historical photos. I haven't been here in over a decade and my wife hasn't ever been.

We collaborated with GM Pauley to host a large group dinner during a conference. Their exceptional accommodation ensured our exclusive space and seamless adjustments. The specially curated menu made ordering effortless for our group. The impeccable communication, service, delightful cuisine, and prime location made our experience outstanding. I must say, their homemade soup was an absolute delight! I highly recommend Peacock Alley to anyone visiting the Bismarck area.

Male manager was extremely disrespectful and also food order for takeout is more often than not missing condiments or sauce.

Stopped by this place today cause I saw the reviews about their Ceaser and it did NOT disappoint. That's literally the only reason I went today, and then I had some French Onion soup and really enjoyed that! I tried to check out the building a bit and get some info about its heritage. Would be cool to see some old photos of the hotel when it was in its prime, maybe some vintage pieces of furniture from the time. It was such a cool building with amazing architecture and neat designs throughout. Will have to come again!

Really good restaurant, great steaks but a number of options. I had the ribeye earlier in the week and choose chicken piccata that was excellent. Wine list was excellent and price of the wine was less than most restaurants of this caliber. We sat in the dining area but they have a large and very nice bar area at the front of the restaurant. You won't be disappointed if you eat here.
